Why all the acrimony? The candidates aren't all that different |
|
on the issues when push comes to shove now are they? I REALLY don't understand the level of emotion that's been displayed in this forum. It's demoralizing, destructive, and downright stupid. I am in shock!
Step back and breathe, people...we all want a Democrat in the Whitehouse again....don't we?

One was for the war - the other was against it.
These are serious issues, no?

10. Huge Difference Between Starting And Funding Continuation |
|
The decision to start the war was a no-brainer - one alternative was suboptimal, but the other option was horrific. Clinton made the wrong choice. Obama made the correct decision, as did most elected Democrats.
Once the thing was started, all of the options became horrific. It's not clear at all that the bloodbath that would ensue after our withdrawal would be less of a bloodbath than the one going on while we stay.

Heard that yesterday from a caller to a radio show in New Orleans. He was sharing his education and spreading his conservative values.

4. It goes something like this... |
|
Person 1: I prefer Hillary to Obama because of her health care position.
Person 2: Well, I prefer Obama to Hillary because, even though I think both candidates have a good shot of winning the general election, I like his chances more when paired against McCain. He's more likeable.
P1: I think Obama will certainly lose the general election because he has no depth and doesn't have any experience beyond being an um... uh...
P2: No way! Nice shilling, shrillbot. Hillary will LOSE teh general election... BECAUSE SHE SUCKS!!1!1
P1: YOUR CANDIDATE HATES GAY PEOPLE
P2: YOUR CANDIDATE IS A SHIRILLERYBOTIC TWERP
P1: OH YEAH, WELL I'LL NEVER VOTE FOR YOUR CANDIDATE!!!!1!1 I'D RATHER DIE.
P2: SCREW YOU PEOPLE I'M VOTING FOR JOHN MCCAIN!

6. The candidates don't *have* to be different |

for the candidates' respective supporters to act out a whole lot of pre-literate tribal bullshit. It could as well be sports teams, or tastes great vs. less filling. There's very little that's rational about any of this, just boneheads at loggerheads.
