Obama did show up for FISA vote. Here's the link.
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 11:38 AM by IndieLeft

As I keep saying, there were two votes yesterday. Obama made it for the first one, but not the second. Actually, he actually voted on other issues too, but that is not the point.

There have been posts on here today and yesterday that have been... misleading... Saying he did not vote. Here is the proof he did.

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=2&vote=00019

However, the FACT remains Clinton did not vote either time... or for anything else yesterday.

Oh... and if you posted the misleading thread about this... don't bother responding. I discovered a wonderful little button that I am now using liberally.

1. Again as you prove - Obama did another "present" with no vote for or against final bill

3. Obama did not make the final vote....the vote that really counts.
So in essence we have 2 candidates that did not show.

6. Well... when you have 17 thousand people waiting for you
you gotta go.

However, he DID show up for the first vote, didn't he. Where was Hillary?

So no, in essence, we have 1 candidate that did not show.

That candidate is the one who was railing against the other for their "present" votes.

At least when you vote present, you actually show up to do so.

11. Obama was elected to be Senator not to go out and campaign for higher office.
Screw his 17,000 fans.

He neglected his responsibilities to his constituents, but he did make the telecom corporations happy by not making the final vote.

4. "Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton missed the final FISA vote today
-- they were the only Senators, along with Sen. Graham, to miss it. It occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The vote was 68 to 29, so it wouldn't have mattered had they been there. Both were present to vote with Sen. Dodd against cloture a few weeks ago and Obama was present this morning to vote on the Amendment.
http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/2/12/224018/154

The bill passed and the amendment failed by the same margins.

To say that one is important and the other is not is a damn lie.

8. Nice strawman, and putting words in the OP's mouth
The OP said nothing about the relative importance of the two votes.

The point is that Hillary chose to campaign instead of showing up for the amendment vote on Telecom immunity. Period. Obama did vote on the amendment. Period.

Spin and flail all you want, but that fact is irrefutable.
