I don't think Edwards will endorse Clinton. |
|
I know some signs point to it happening, but after last night, it really doesn't look good for her and endorsing could be hitching his wagon to a sinking ship. I think he may have been leaning toward endorsing Clinton prior to yesterday, but after what happened last night, will either not endorse or throw his support behind Obama.

it was such a brilliant move by the Obama camp to postpone their meeting until after last night's primaries-Hillary Clinton is NOT going to win the nomination and they could offer Edwards the moon, stars AND THE SUN and he wouldn't endorse her now...

11. I think there was an added reason for that postponement... |
|
To wait to see how the Beltway primaries go...
Before, Edwards had something to bring to the table, and Obama could have been asked to make a deal.
Obama doesn't need to make any deals now. Edwards missed that boat. Sure, Obama will take his delegates, but he doesn't need them, nor will he give anything "in return" for them now. There's no way Clinton will bargain her way to the nomination if Obama gets the plurality of popular votes.
Edwards going to Hillary now would be like a rat swimming TOWARD the sinking ship.
Edwards' best bet now is just to wait until the convention, prepare that farewell speech (did you know his father worked in a mill all his life?), make his mark there. After the GE, I would invite him to start doing an Al Gore or Jimmy Carter - I think he would be really good at it...
PS: I was an Edwards supporter, but I can read the writing on the wall...

4. Does that mean that you think if he endorses Clinton now, that it will not be for personal gain as |
|
it would make more sense to jump on the Obama bandwagon?

7. I don't pretend to know what Edwards is thinking. |
|
But I think Edwards is pragmatic enough to understand the uphill battle she faces.

but I don't think it's particularly important at this point, nor do I have a problem with waiting and seeing.
