New threads should not be started just because someone heard an airhead call into C-SPAN and say something stupid. Or got a call from a long-lost cousin who decided to vote for Clinton or Obama this morning. Every post should contain a substantive point and this better ensures that will happen. I'd extend the rule across a lot more forums. Do the people complaining actually believe they have THAT much to say of importance, or that can't be appended to an existing thread?
