Tonight, almost 1,000 Ohioans showed up to our campaign's organizational meeting at the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 189 Labor Hall in Columbus. The room was overflowing with people eager to get involved in the campaign -- they were definitely fired up and ready to organize Ohio!

Central Ohio Regional Field Director Rory Steele kicked off the event by reminding everyone how important it is to reach out to their friends, family, and neighbors and encourage them to vote for Barack. He also explained how the campaign wants to build upon the efforts of the grassroots activists who've been working to win support for Barack in Ohio since he entered the race a year ago, and is open to suggestions that folks have about how to organize in their communities.

Rory introduced all of the field organizers who are working in Central Ohio, so that folks could find out who their local contact for the campaign would be.

Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) Coordinator for Central Ohio Seth London encouraged folks to sign up for a wide variety of opportunities, from becoming a GOTV captain, to volunteering to bring food into the office, to housing staffers and volunteers.
One person who was really excited to attend the event was Debbie, who signed up to be a GOTV captain!

Debbie's been a supporter of Barack since the fall, and is excited to get actively involved in the campaign now. She's a teacher and was really happy to see a diverse crowd of people at the event.
Debbie likes Barack's character and integrity, and believes that when he is President, he will repair our country's reputation in the international community. She said:
I'm supporting Barack because he will rebuild our broken international bridges. He really brings people together. I know so many people, Republicans, Democrats, and independents alike who all support him...I can't stop talking to people about him!The time is now to get involved! We need volunteers to help encourage Ohioans to vote for Barack on March 4. Sign up to volunteer here!
