This is a thread for people standing on the sidelines.
Whether you've already voted for a candidate no longer in the race, like both candidates too much to feel strongly about the choice, or conversely, loathe both candidates too much to feel strongly, welcome! How are you feeling tonight? I made this thread because I looked at all the different threads in GD:P, and none of the topics seemed worthy of getting exercised over.

I'm still interested in the race as a spectator, though. Now that Hillary is going Wisconsin rather than conceding, I'm wondering if she has another comeback in her. It seems improbable, but not impossible.

How are you feeling about the race, the party, McCain, and everything?

1. Well, H&E, I feel pretty good about it.
Because I believe that this is a good race with good candidates. And that democracy begs for competitive elections. I am excited about seeing this go all the way to the convention. And most of all, because I believe (despite what I read here) that democrats will rally around their eventual candidate and we will win.

Thanks for asking. How do you feel?

2. i think we win in a land slide.
Either way Hillary or Obama runs away with it.

McCain seems to me almost to easy in the GE.

8. I read a lot of scenarios on DU
that would make one think differently.

Yes the Repubs. are in shambles.

Wish there was more rejoicing about it.

9. Yeah, I'm starting to wonder how many senators and representatives
we can drag across the finish line. Senator Larry LaRocco (D-ID) per chance?

10. The long, long primary season has been a wonderful
advertisement for the Democratic Party. I can't believe people were complaining that it started too early.

5. Sen. Clinton was only two hours away, but I couldn't get away
to drive out to see her in Corpus Christi. Too risky for getting back to get my kids as school lets out.

I'm still undecided. I'm afraid hillary is too corporate if she's like Bill, but I worry about Barack having the right experience -- in the office and taking on the GOP smear machine. I worry about which one could beat McCain.

12. Go watch the Cleveland debate Feb 26, K?

I'm more of a pragmatist these days than a strict leftwing liberal. People have to live and work in the real world.

No one in Congress can not have corporate ties. No one is pure, and everyone's a politician - that's the nature of the beast, but I do think Hillary understands the ins and outs of DC, knows a lot of people there, and has proven she can get things done with the cooperation of the Repubs on a lot of things she cares about. I've yet to hear/read a Repub. colleague speak badly of her (unlike many Obama supporters here on DU). With her health care initiative in 92 that failed, she learned that you can't exclude the big players from the picture, but economist Paul Krugman has said that Hillary's plan is the better one that takes us on the road to a genuine universal health care.

I'm just asking that you do please consider her competence and readiness to do the mountain of tasks that the next Dem president needs to tackle at once.

Thanks for reading this (if you got through it to the end).

7. Laughing that people think Hillary should concede.
Edited on Wed Feb-13-08 11:12 PM by BeatleBoot
I have never experienced so many people who think they know what it takes to win in a primary election like this and then pontificate over it, all while having no idea what they are talking about.

It's like a consultant telling me over 1,000 ways to make love to a woman, but the consultant is a virgin.

11. I'm not. Do you need any advice?
Just kidding!

It is fascinating to watch, isn't it. And the power of the underdog in a race like this cannot be underestimated.

13. I've given it a lot of thought
and decided that Wully Bully was a great song.

Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro
Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.
Hatty told Matty, "Let's don't take no chance.
Let's not be L-seven, come and learn to dance."
Wooly bully, wooly bully
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.
Matty told Hatty, "That's the thing to do.
Get you someone really to pull the wool with you."
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

I mean, it doesn't get much more profound than that.
