Here's the important part of the Rasmussen national poll ... link
which was just posted on Drudge:

http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

"In general election match-ups, Obama leads John McCain 46% to 42% while McCain leads Clinton 48% to 41%"

- end quote -

That's the kind of poll that sways superdelegates. National Democratic polls don't count much now, but national general election polls do. Very glad that Drudge posted that poll where many will see it.

1. Rasmussen Nevada poll ... Obama crushes McCain
someone who hasn't hit their 3 post limit (arrgh!) may want to post this as its own thread.

http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/nevada/election_2008_nevada_general

Looking ahead to November 2008, Barack Obama has a twelve-point lead over John McCain in a general election match-up. Obama attracts 50% of the vote while McCain earns 38%.

At the same time, McCain has a nine-point lead over Hillary Clinton, 49% to 40%.

2. Rasmussen New Hampshire - same story
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/new_hampshire/new_hampshire_2008_presidential_election

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone poll shows Clinton leading McCain 43% to 41% in New Hampshire. At the same time, Obama leads McCain 49% to 36%. National polling, updated daily, currently shows the same general trend with Obama performing better than Clinton in match-ups with McCain.

8. What I want to know
If Ras has Obama leading in NH, NV, and CO by these margins, what does it mean that his national lead is smaller? It is hard to imagine 3 states that would be a better chance for McCain to make gains against 2004 results than these 3, so my guess would be Obama fairs at least this well in blue states. Unless he gets demolished in a handful of very red states, its hard to image these kind of numbers matching up.

3. From the start, when it was just discussed that Hillary would run...
...I said over and over: If she is the nominee in 2008, that means another Repubbie in the WH for four years.

We, as Dems, need to wake up and make sure that our nominee can and will win the WH in November 2008. Our nation CANNOT survive another Repubbie Admin.

6. He's only noting reality.
Many devout Dems read Drudge, too. It's listening to the enemy so as not to get blindsided.
