I have nothing against Lesbians and I have nothing against Muslims. I hoped that this would be taken as read by everyone who is a regular visitor to DU.

My point is: why should we expect our candidates to spend their time rebutting these kind of hate-based rumors?

I don't want Obama to spend time reassuring voters that he is not a Muslim.
