Our Lexus/Limousine Liberals for Obama. Who will be told they are idiots next? |
|
Joe Wilson. Just a hack. Larry Flynt. Pornographer. Bill Clinton. Total failure. Feel free to add more to your little Mikado list.
The list never ends for you does it? Up comes a name, people who have given their careers and taken huge risks for us as Democrats, only to be the victims of the slash and burn of this parade of the not worthy. Does it occur to you that the fact you have the high profile support you do, makes you not a rebel , but just another "elite".
The crimes of not supporting Obama are huge. Your past is discredited no matter what. Your present is scrutinized to show trial your failings for not submitting. Your future? well that's the worst. You are no service to the cause. You are not to be trusted. You did not load into that limousine fast enough. You dream the big dreams with your master builder, that has no blueprints. You slavishly parrot his words, even his Readers Digest platitudes.
You are the elites. You are the ones that are exclusionary because no one fits or can measure up to a statue of your own construction. That report about Hillary and Bill and that sick girl who died; they just did what they do, because they are truly caring people, but in the Cultural Revolution of the Obama supporters, that means nothing and is to be despised, thrown on the monster bonfire chanting the mantra of "EVERYTHING MUST GO".
The Lexus/Limousine is not big enough for all of you, so therefore like people, promises will be ejected. Then you will ask where was the love, the care, and how you gave your all. But the way things are going you will not get any sympathy from some of your fellow Democrats as you were the ones burning down the house, then asking if you can crash on the couch.
Building a campaign on dreams is a good thing, but claiming victory while you stand on the wreckage and debris of the building that housed you for so long, along with shoving it's occupants out the door before you dismantled it is disgusting.

|
I hardly think ANYTHING Obama has in his past comes anywhere CLOSE to the constant protecting of Poppy Bush and his cronies like Jackson Stephens.
That protection led directly to the the return of Bush2, 9-11, Iraq war and soon to be war with Iran.

My Honda is real low milage, too, but it does look almost like it is brand new thanks to a pal of mine who has had it lovingly hand washed each week and detailed and waxed as needed. However, it is still a lowly Honda CRV and NOT one of those expensive, new Lexus SUVs like the ones I have seen with Hillary bumper stickers. I am wondering where those women are who they talk about who are the wealthy Obama supporters. My pals and I are nice retired old ladies and none of us are wealthy by a long shot...but we all favor Obama over Hillary.

9. So everyone has to agree with everything that is written |
|
by people with "names", I have seen others not associated with DU make some valid points against what Wilson, Flynt and others have written - based on the content of their articles. Many even went so far as to say that they loved WIlson, but he got it wrong this time.
What you are suggesting is that because of people's "names", that everything they write should be just accepted.
I have often seen Obama supporters disagree with unfair criticism of Hillary.

|
I documented some of his lies here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4580656&mesg_id=4581341They are blatant, and easily refutable, as is the notion that no one knew Bush was spoiling for war in Iraq when the AUMF was voted on. I still think Bush admin unfairly and criminally outed his wife as an act of vengeance for his NYT editorial, but you don't get a pass to lie, no matter who you are.

And labor unions are just special-interest groups. When they advertise their stances, they're being evil -- no matter how polite those ads are.
NOW is no good. Universal health care is a bad idea. It's totally OK to mock a female politician as "a witch." Nothing sexist about that.
Emily's List is a monstrous organization. Trial lawyers are scum -- how dare they spend years building cases against major corporations on behalf of poor people?
/sarcasm.

41. 'slash and burn' is the way of the 'Net my friend |
|
Take a step back from the keyboard and relax a bit. You're a little too close to the fire right now.
Chat warriors (us here at DU, and the Freepers for example) can hide behind our aliased names and keyboards and call whatever we want with out fear of much reprisal.
This emboldens people to 'slash and burn' discussions and flame wars. I see it here all the time. Usually DU is highly irrational about the current political landscape in the world, and this forum gives us a place to rant a bit and get it all out.
But you can't take the vitriol here (for or against Obama or Clinton, and against Bushco) personally. If you do so, you're going to risk your sanity on the insane.
Please don't do that, we need your energy and drive to throw the beltway bums out (DINOs included).
Having said all that, you are right about an elitist streak here at DU. Its an ugly image that's been painted on us liberals and progressives by the spiteful right that we are all too happy to reflect for them. That needs to stop. That, also, is the reason why 2000 and 2004 were such close elections. The public perception of Gore and Kerry was out-of-touch (Gore) or snobbish (Kerry). Besides the coming battle over racism or sexism (depending on the winner), this elitist caricature will be our greatest problem.

You can try to downplay the voters who cross all demographic descriptions and all walks of life in an effort to try to trash their judgement that they are sick and tired of the Same Old Dynasty Solution, but you just look like a sore loser.
As for Joe Wilson, he's a good man. It was odd that he was looking for Obama when Obama was speaking out (like millions of us) against the war. Was he blind? As for Larry Flynt, the man has been running on delusion for many years and to give him any level of credibility (making movies with gang rape, producing porn like Barely Legal, ties to DeLorean and Charles Keating and suffers from bi-polar disorder) is revealing of desperation. Bill Clinton lying about Obama and clinically a lying psychopath who tries to overshadow his wife's candidacy (who he publically cheated on) was integral in making Hillary's campaign be what it is now.
Otherwise, your post is just plain odd. It's like you're murmering to yourself disjointed thoughts like a madman at a bus stop.
