Poll question: Which Party will be more divided come November 2008?
I know there are a lot of variables, but still--we're talking nine months away. With any luck, the convention will work out any and all inner conflict.

The GOP has more problems than just one candidate vs. the other--they've got religous conservatives vs economic conservatives vs diplomatic conservatives vs moderates of every stripe. Liberal Republicans have long since bolted for our party or Independence. And don't forget--BUSH is still President!

Still, remember the words of Will Rogers: "I don't belong to any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

1. It will depend on what happens at the convention.

2. Last night, I was feeling kind of blue about Denver...
...but today, in the light of early afternoon, I feel there WILL be no Convention dustup. Pundits love to talk about worst-case scenarios, but the superdelegates aren't dumb, and neither is Dean.

The rules will be followed, and the will of the majority obeyed--Democrats know their history, and they don't want another 1968. OR another 2000.

3. A lot will depend on how gracious Obama is when he loses. That
will make or break the unity thing...

Can she lose graciously?

7. Yeah, I think that she can lose graciously. She has more invested
in the party than Obama does, so I think that she will go gently if she loses...

5. More delusion from Camp Hillary. She can't win. He can't lose.
When all Hillary's voters have to think about their Social Security checks, their medicare, their teachers's salaries, their union wages, they won't pull the McCain lever. They'll vote their self interest.

Even you will vote for Obama when the time comes.

6. I'm not a Clinton supporter. You need buy a clue. If Clinton loses
there will be no problem, because she is completely invested in the Party - has been since 1972 or so. Obama, otoh, is not so invested. He's been a Democrat since what, the mid nineties? And I hope for your sake that your god, Obama, wins. No doubt you will go postal if your idol should lose - and that would be a sorry sight, indeed...

11. Thanks for making my decision easy.
I routinely put on IGNORE anyone who never has anything intelligent to say, no matter who they support or don't support. Hope that snarky thing works out for you. Must really suck to be you.

15. Yea - if we get into a super delegate battle - it could cost us the GE!
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 04:37 PM by RiverStone
I sure as hell HOPE that Obama wins this thing on March 4th.

The pukes would love nothing better then a divisive convention.

The sooner Obama wins, the sooner we unite (as much as possible).

And yes, the same thing can be said for Hillary - but - she has a bigger hill to climb to get there.

16. Depends on if the Hillary crowd pulls a lot of crap re: Mich. and Fla.
If they go that route, believe me, it will get ugly, ugly, ugly within our party.
