My Theory Behind the "Debate me Everywhere!" Tactic
Is that it will lessen the amount of time Obama can spend "on the ground" among the people, where he certainly seems to be strongest. Obama has consistantly shown a stronger organization at the ground level evidenced by his (often far) large number of rallies, visits, etc. If HRC can get him in the studio instead of doing what he does best, being among the people, she can take away his one of his biggest strengths.

1. It's free media
The cash-strapped challenger always wants as many televised debates as possible.

5. Also True
I think it's a killing two birds with one stone type of thing. The more often HRC can get Obama into a debate, the more often she gets on the air and keeps Obama off the ground, the better. I think further debate between the two is really unnecissary at this point and worry that it would, in the long run, end up hurting either candidate more than it would help, come GE time.

2. She's out of money, she can't afford tv ads.
She just wants the air time.

7. Hillary is begging for a "gotcha" against Obama.......
that's all that she can hope for in order to win, based on the math.

12. That's exactly it Frenchie...
Her back is up against the wall.

She needs a knock out to try and tear him down and stop his momentum.

I hope he is prepared for it.

If I were Obama, I wouldn't have agreed to more than one more debate. There have
been 17 debates. What's left to say?

It should be interesting though, because these two aren't going to be bestest buddies like
they were in the last debate.

Look for claws and fangs...

8. Obama needs to make the intentions of her tactic clear.
There have already been 18 debates and there are two more scheduled for Texas and Ohio.

10. I saw a WI add today that I though addressed it well
Without being combative and I think that's the best way the Obama camp can appraoch it. Basically said we're not scared of debating you, we're just not going to let you dictate the terms or give you what you want simply because you want it.

9. And Obama should refuse to debate her on her schedule. Period.
He should simply say that he has commitments with the people that he needs to honor. Hillary might just have to get her hands dirty meeting people face to face then. She might have to by hand disinfectant by the case, since that's how she stays healthy on the trail.

15. I think it is simply that Clinton is a better debator than Obama and wants
to show that in as many debates as possible. Makes perfect sense for her to be pressuring him to do more debates.

16. Like when Clinton couldn't answer the question about her IWR vote?
Yeah, that was some skilled debating on her part. :eyes:

She started out winning the debate and finished in a tie, because of that blunder alone.

18. If What you say is true
and I don't agree that it is, why would Obama agree to debate? I mean, I don't show up at a shoot-out with a knife. Its the difference between running a smart campaign and running a HRC campaign. You play to your strengths, not to your opponents'.

19. He's not doing one debate a week like the Clinton camp wanted. Of course he
didn't want to appear to be afraid to debate..just to keep the number of debates down. Smile - he's getting better at debating as we go along. He could win one.

It's not much of a plan, but she's not much of a thinker.

the victim card. She really does love to play the victim. I couldn't take four years of her constant drama. :eyes:

21. If you are behind, debates are last ditch to catch up....
I believe in debates...but we have had plenty.

And I think it is great we are going to have two more.

Just sayin' the obvious: challengers want debates, those in the lead have more to lose, less to gain by debates.

Hillary thinks like a challenger, not someone ahead. What happened to Ms Inevitable?
