Did you see McCain today? |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 06:22 PM by ginnyinWI
Standing there with Romney? First, that was a mistake--Romney is younger, taller and more handsome. Second, just look at him. He's an old geezer and not very robust looking at all. It looks like he has to force himself to smile or move is body in any way. Sit down, gramps, please.
Second, I cannot in my wildest imagination picture him as president. He's not charismatic. He doesn't even seem energized by his own run for president. Is he just going through the motions? Do they all know he's just been put there because they know they are going to lose anyway, so might as well give him the honor of saying he ran for president?
And I don't think the Republicans are going to feel like going to a lot of effort to create an image for him as winner. He's been around so long, it's impossible to re-craft him into anything other than what he already is. He seems like a sincere person,(sincerely wrong on policy too), but he's not presidential material. Nope.
And I do think he is the best of the bunch that came forward to run this time--the others were far worse.

10. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... |
|
I see a phoney plastered-on smile and a phoney wide-eyed gaze.

11. From this Obama supporter, you're right. |
|
She's very attractive and far more energetic than most people her age.
I admire her greatly and win her the very best.

17. I agree that she's very attractive and |
|
energetic. I was watching her walking down the steps from an airplane, talking on a cell phone with one hand, a coat hanging over the other arm. She was wearing heels and walked down those steps without even looking at her feet or touching the handrail.
She's 60. McCain's wife is also attractive and couldn't be more than 54, could she? It's possible she's not familiar with airplane steps, certainly she hasn't been traveling like Hillary for the last few years, but she was going down a similar set of steps one at a time and with a hand firmly holding the handrail.
It was a vivid contrast to me. Full disclosure -- I'm quite a bit older than Hillary and I would never go up in a plane in the first place, but if I had steps like those to negotiate, I'd certainly be going down them one at a time and hanging on to the handrail. So I admire Hillary's strength of purpose to keep herself healthy and physically young.
I'm an Obama supporter, but nevertheless can admire Hillary Clinton. If she doesn't secure the nomination for president, she'll become I'm sure a legendary member of the Senate.

3. OK, I think knocking someone for their appearance is a bit cheap. |
|
You might not move so well either if you'd been in a POW camp for years.
There is PLENTY to dislike about McCain's suitability for President (or any public office for that matter) without us stooping to these kind of beauty contest comparisons.
Just sayin'!

I guess for having been tortured for 5 years he looks as good as he can. There are a lot of things I don't like about McCain but I will not make fun of his appearance or physical condition.

No matter who the nominee, McCain's age and...well....look, should be off limits to all Democrats. That's just mean and Democrats don't play that way.
Plus, the country has eyes.

12. that's not how I meant it-- |
|
What I meant is that it matters politically. He doesn't project what he needs to project to win the presidency. He doesn't project enough energy, strength, or confidence. He body language says "tired". I don't see anything that will inspire votes.
He's a long-time legislator and looks fine for that role.

13. And the Grecian Formula, too. |

My mother's hair was predominantly dark at her death last year just shy of 90, but it wasn't shoe polish black like Dole's!
