Everyone cool-out a moment. Who here will not support the "other" candidate in the General Election? |
|
Are there any Hillary supporters in here who will not turn out to vote for Obama in the General Election?

I'm wondering if all this vitriol is as bad as it seems.

1. To me, it's not WHO gets nominated, but HOW he or she gets nominated. |
|
They are both great candidates. I can happily support either of them.
We each get to define a "fair" nomination process at the convention. If it is not "fair" by my definition, then I will have to have a long conversation with myself. Knowing my own Democratic tendencies, I will probably end up voting for our nominee, even if the process is "unfair", but my commitment of time and money will be minimal.
I am hoping that the convention does not make it tough for me, when we have two such capable candidates.

And yes, losing is a very real possibility.

12. I'd rather have a democratically elected president. I'm an American above being a Democrat. |

I don't want a president who was placed on the ticket because of phone calls and lunch dates with superdelegates.

5. I have been voting since the 50's but I may not go if Obama |
|
gets more of the people behind him and then Clinton gets it. I would see that no different than Bush getting in over Gore when more people wanted Gore. It is a silly old system that must be mad up To date..Seens it would prove to me that the guys in the back room are still in control. I also think a lot of people will stay home if they see this as a Fa. thing all over. The guy with the most votes not getting in. The person with the most people should get it not the person with the best friends. We have had almost 8 years of that and we need it gone.

8. If Hillary doesn't get the popular vote and instead gets the nomination via the superdelegates |
|
I will not be voting for her. I am an Obama supporter, but the same thing applies to him though I don't think it will come up with him. At this point I believe the only way she will get the nomination is if the superdelegates give it to her.
I don't think our next president should be chosen by how many superdelegates Chelsea had lunch with.

If the superdelegates annoint Hillary and supercede the will of the people, the election is lost. I WILL not vote for someone who lost the popular vote because I'm forced to. This isn't "MY party, right or wrong". I don't really have any enthusiasm for Hillary as a candidate and think it would be bad news if a pro-job-offshorer and believer of the worst president this country has ever been disgraced with (twice) gets the nomination. That disgust will exacerbate if the wealthy decide for me who my nominee should be, as if the people aren't smart enough to make that decision on their own.

Thanks to her abysmal performance in the primary, I tripled my money on my InTrade account. Thanks for sucking so much Hillary! I haven't made money this easily in years, and wish I had bet the farm on Obama.

Personally I would rather have Hillary or Obama do that.

And start hating the other candidate for irrational reasons. But they eventually calm down and see that another 4 years with a Republican at the helm is not a good thing. :-)

The emotionality is amped way up. The hyperbole is thrown around willy-nilly.
In the end, the adult comes out and rationality takes hold.

17. I won't support either. |
|
Which is why I'm holding out for a brokered convention.
I've been blunt about my position since before the primary kicked off. Give me a candidate who I can, in good conscience, vote FOR, because I'm not doing the "lesser of two evils" vote, ever again.
The Democratic voters that "count" have not done so.

I see Obama in a different light than many of the individuals responding. I see the same arrogance in him that I saw in GW Bush. I don't need inspiration. I don't like the was the media paints him as a victim to that bad clinton machine. Grow up and debate on the issues and leave the fluff and inspiration until after we know your policies. He himself has played into this game between the two candidates. All the way day to the racial issues.
I will not vote for Obama. His comment that all of her supporters will support him but his not her. Arrogant statement, and I know many that feel the same way.

21. I don't like Obama. I don't trust him. |

I don't fall for the evangelical preaching that he does. However, I will vote for him if he's nominated, simply because the alternative is much, much worse. And hope that I'm wrong about Obama.
Then, if he wins the presidency, I'll be one of the ones keeping his feet to the fire.
