Hillary voters: Gone are blacks, men, young people and better-educated whites. In fact,
the only groups Clinton can still count on are low-income whites and older white women.
http://www.236.com/news/2008/02/14/obama_appealing_to_key_clinton_4438.php

Not a bad weekend for Obama. Not only did he win four out of four states over Hillary, but he also took home a Grammy for best spoken word album, beating out former presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
And for some strange reason the M$M carried little mention or none to Obama's defeat over Bill Clinton?!?

1. Revisiionist History. The Groups you describe were Obamas
voters from day one.
Just a question: Are the Blacks marginalizing themselves
within the Democratic Party over the long run. Jusat a question
--no bias intended.

4. Blacks marginalizing? not at all, a trend has just begun with some
of the black vote switching pledged and support from Hillary to Obama.

<snip> “In recent days, there is a sense of movement and a sense of spirit,” said Mr. Lewis, a Georgia Democrat who endorsed Mrs. Clinton last fall. “Something is happening in America, and people are prepared and ready to make that great leap.”

Mr. Lewis, who carries great influence among other members of Congress, disclosed his decision in an interview in which he said that as a superdelegate he could “never, ever do anything to reverse the action” of the voters of his district, who overwhelmingly supported Mr. Obama.

“I’ve been very impressed with the campaign of Senator Obama,” Mr. Lewis said. “He’s getting better and better every single day.”

His comments came as fresh signs emerged that Mrs. Clinton’s support was beginning to erode from some other African-American lawmakers who also serve as superdelegates. Representative David Scott of Georgia, who was among the first to defect, said he, too, would not go against the will of voters in his district.

16. Bullshit. Just a few months ago black voters were supporting Clinton over Obama
The Clintons fucked themselves with that voting bloc by being such ruthless assholes.

Oh, and I suppose you don't have a problem when 90% of black voters vote for the Dem candidate in the general do you? Or are they "marginalizing" themselves then?

Fucking racist moron.

32. No Shit, Last year almost no one knew Obama's name and Clinton was the wild favorite and inevitable
All these voters where Clinton's someone else's or no one's. Obama hasn't been on the national stage for 20 years and didn't come with a built in constituency, talk about revisionist history.

7. My partner and I both have master's degrees
And we both support Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama, though she wasn't our first choice.

Oh wait... we're both over 50.

Um... and my partner is Hispanic.

Er... and of course, we're gay.

Eh... and we're not considered poor.

And our next door neighbors, who are black and in a mixed Muslim/Christian household, and also working poor, are voting for Hillary as well.

Gee, I guess those stereotypes must have missed our neighborhood.

43. purely anecdotal, and kinda pompous...really.
the op referred to an undeniable trend in Obama's last 8 or 10 (I can't keep up) wins. Everyone on this board can come up with some friend, partner, spouse, neighbor anecdote to support their position. Doesn't change exit polling.

45. Yeah, well I'm a bit tired of the class war here
Too bad you weren't around when one poster in this thread described Hillary's supporters as the "trailer park vote". Or in other threads where they've been decribed as a bunch of post-menopausal white women, among other things. Get back to me when you can recognize what's really pompous around here.

Here is another hint for you. This is Obama's plan for unity.

And another hint in case you didn't get the others.

:P I think too many people do have an attitude about politics that is similar to rooting for a favorite sports team. Winning is the goal and the total defeat of the other team is something to feel good about. I don't want to promote that attitude but I think Americans are like that...

Oh, heck, I hope this doesn't run counter what I just wrote, but....
