Hillary, here is what you should say...
"My opponent wants to reach out to Republicans (nodding her head affirmatively as she says it)....Well here's what I want to do...After 7 miserable years of Republican failures and abject corruption, I want Republicans to reach out to Democrats, so we can get the job done the right way!!".......followed by thunderous applause, standing ovations, and Hillary's ratings skyrocketing to the moon, turning the race around on a dime.

2. Hillary's a smart woman, she knows perfectly well
that Rethuglicans are never going to do that. She'd look like a total doofus if she said that. I agree with the sentiment, but I think a better way to deal with the Republicans is to get filibuster-proof majorities in both Houses.

5. You better pray that Hillary doesn't see this, Sis
because it'll be more than a pipe dream if she does. It'll be reality.

Pipe dreams are the essence of Obamaites, not Hillaryites :smoke:

6. I think Hillary is the last person on earth who Republicans would reach out for
It's a cute line, I guess.

But Obama's response is that the only time that Republicans have reached out to a Clinton is to hand them a subpoena. Do we really want a repeat of eight years of attacks and counter-attacks and the mindest of politics as warfare.

She did. It did. It was genius.

11. The problem with that is, the person doing the reaching is NOT
the person doing the moving.

Republicans have been reaching out to Democrats for years, and in response the DLC has moved TOWARD the republicans.

Obama reaching out to Republicans is saying "Here I am, I'm not moving. But you are welcome to come over here to ME."

Reaching to republicans is an invitation to move them to the left. Them reaching to Democrats is an invitation to move Democrats to the right, which has been the party's history since the 80s.

20. She should talk about Obama's use of the right-wing machine against her
It's been a greatest strength of Mr. Obama -- it should be used against him.

Obama mailer:

23. What Hillary should REALLY say:
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 02:34 PM by smoogatz
1.We're going to hold a plebiscite in Iraq and let the Iraqi people vote on whether they want us to stay or go. If the majority want us out, we're out.

2.We're going to have single-payer, universal healthcare in this country as soon as it's technically possible to do so. You don't have to do anything: your national insurance card will be sent to you in the mail.

3.We're going to rescind Bush's tax-cuts for the rich the day I take office and balance the budget in three years.

4.We're going to get rid of the payroll tax and replace it with a carbon tax, and we're going to start a crash alternative energy program that'll make the space program of the '60s look like a grade school science fair.

5.When I'm elected, I'm going to investigate and prosecute the manifold crimes of the previous administration. I'll chase them all the way to Paraguay if I have to, or until they drop dead, whichever comes first.

Don't hold your breath.

Same goes for Obama, too.

On edit:

6.We're going to take back the electoral process and the government and give it to the people, not corporations. We're going to reform campaign finance once and for all and eliminate the system of legalized bribery and patronage that currently defines our government.

24. Since the country is desperately trying to heal our wounds, I would advise her to say anything but..
..what you suggested.

flame baiting is great for message boards.

it's not great for speeches or political platforms.

And President Obama laid his groove down in the White House, and America lived happily ever after. Amen.
