If Dems chose McCain, and Repubs chose Obama...did anyone vote in the right primary? |
|
If you pay attention to right-wingers (and I do), the complaint is that John McCain is the nominee even though no Republican voted for him. And, they are right to a degree. McCain won in a lot of open primaries where he actually got a smaller percentage of "Republican" votes than other candidate - specifically Romney.
And the complaint among Hillary supporters is that Republican cross-overs "chose" Obama for the Democrats (which is not supported by any actual data like the McCain numbers, but whatever).
My question is this: Did anyone vote in the proper primary?

they were mostly indie "cross-overs".
There are now more self-identified indies than repubs in the country.
