Boston asks Huckabee to lose that 'Feeling'
Boston asks Huckabee to lose that 'Feeling'

By Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan
February 15, 2008

Tom Scholz of the band Boston fired off a letter yesterday to Mike Huckabee asking the Republican presidential hopeful to stop using the song "More Than a Feeling" at rallies and campaign appearances. "Boston has never endorsed a political candidate, and with all due respect, would not start by endorsing a candidate who is the polar opposite of most everything Boston stands for," Scholz wrote. The Huckabee campaign could not be reached for a response yesterday. (Just last week, John Mellencamp got John McCain to stop using his songs at political appearances.) The Boston rocker does offer the former Arkansas governor a compliment - of sorts. "Although I'm impressed you learned my bass guitar part on 'More Than a Feeling,' " Scholz wrote, "I am an Obama supporter."

3. He should use "Hooked on a Feeling" instead.
His supporters have that "Ooga Chocka Oooga Ooga" thing down pat, at least.

4. I admit I have nothing against Huckabee
He seems like a nice guy but the god in government shtick is a deal breaker for me.

I do think he has the best quote so far. "I don't major in math, I major in miracles"

Oh...and he should have asked Boston for permission to use their music! The RIAA goes after us lesser people for such things!

9. I do
but then he was governor of my state for ten years. Raised taxes, messed with local school districts, and got people around here so mad that even the Republicans are passing out anti-Huckabee literature.

5. Why do Republicans constantly swipe songs from musicians?
First Reagan did that with Springsteen's "Born in the USA".

Then McCain did it with Mellencamp.

Now Huckabible's stealing Boston's music.

Don't they have their own music they can play?

10. No
Unless you count Gospel and Christian rock.

Apparently, all the anthemic popular music of the past 50 years has been written by people who at least lean left.

Why don't all these guys just haul out Ted Nugent?
