It comes down to...."Do I want a DREAMER or a PRAGMATIST....
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 07:50 PM by KoKo01
Do I want a Presidency looking to undo the abuses of a "Former Presidency" who will RIGHT THE WRONGS of all the failings of that Presidency...like NAFTA/GATT and MEDIA DEREGULATION and Bombing Countries to Prove you are "Tough on Foreign Policy...not a Wimp."

OR...

Do I want a "FEEL GOOD GUY..with an EVANGELICAL MESSAGE that can BLOW THE FUNDIES OUT...CAN UNITE AMERICA who is MULTI-RACIAL, MULTI-CULTURAL ...and doesn't have FAITH ANYMORE in a BUNCH OF OLD WHITE GUYS who SIGNED A PIECE OF PAPER back over 200 YEARS AGO...which is Soooooo OUTDATED that WHO GIVES A FUCK!

I'm just torn. I think All these OLD WHITE GUYS like those PILGRIMS and PATRIOTS are sort of DEAD...like WHO NEEDS 'EM!

America is Part of the GLOBAL ECONOMY...NOTHING DONE...way back there can RELATE to AMERICA TODAY!

I NEED .....HOPE! I need someone who understands MY GLOBAL NEEDS!

I gotta vote for OBAMA...he's the UNIFYER of all of us DISENFRANCHISED across the GLOBAL ECONOMY.

For you "Naysayers" thinking GLOBILISATION is BAD....just look at Walmart...It's Good it brings stuff my TWO INCOME FAMILY can AFFORD into the US...

I'm just glad that my Granny isn't working in a SWEAT SHOP in NYCity ANYMORE! She sent a kid to YALE and one to VASSAR working in that SWEAT SHOP. She says one of her kids actually went to school with Bill Kristol...and he said he had relatives who worked "in the Garment Trade."

America was BUILT ON SWEAT SHOPS...the kids went to GREAT SCHOOLS... Why can't we allow GLOBILISATION to to LIFT ALL BOATS just like it did in the Past.

Those "OLD WHITE MEN" who got on those boats from ENGLAND don't represent the MULTI-CULTURAL/DIVERSITY of AMERICA TODAY!

Let's RE-WRITE that Stupid "Constitution" and "Bill of Rights" so that it REFLECTS THE AMERICA OF TODAY!

Who is WITH ME ON THIS!

BTW...this is a SERIES..9!!!!111...Post! (just so the "thought police," know)

9. what a load of horseshit.
"Why can't we allow GLOBILISATION to to LIFT ALL BOATS just like it did in the Past. "

"a rising tide lifts all boats" is the most incredibly idiotic statemens ever foisted on the american worker.

for one thing- in order for the tide to be rising in one place- it has to be going down somewhere else. and the value of an american blue-collar workers paycheck will tell you where that someplace is.

if it said something more akin to "a rising tide lifts all YACHTS", it might ring more true, in economic terms.

18. I can't believe you're
getting fooled like this, KoKo?! hilary was so "pragmatic" that she voted for the IWR to look tough. She lost me in 2002 and hasn't done anything to redeem herself since.

Obama's speech coming out against the War On Iraq in 2002 when it was wildly popular shows he has the courage and the leadership we need in a president..not to mention the way their campaign is being run when the clintons are running their's into the ground with negativety.

<snip>

What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.

What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Rove to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income - to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone through the worst month since the Great Depression. That's what I'm opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics. Now let me be clear - I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity. He's a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history. I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars.

So for those of us who seek a more just and secure world for our children, let us send a clear message to the President today. You want a fight, President Bush? Let's finish the fight with Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, through effective, coordinated intelligence, and a shutting down of the financial networks that support terrorism, and a homeland security program that involves more than color-coded warnings. You want a fight, President Bush?

19. Zidzi...I've posted here many times.....I can't vote until May 6th...and I'm undecided...
and the more I read the more confused and upset I become that we are left with THESE TWO!

So...I'm doing "questioning" ...because I honestly can't make up my mind....

But, I DO KNOW that there's a HUGE MOVEMENT to say that the CONSTITUTION OF US was written by DEAD WHITE MEN and it's time to CHANGE IT. It's a MEME and if you GOOGLE it you will find I'm not some weirdo, here.

And,...just so you know...I feel the "Globilized Movement" might have something going for it. We are tied to our Constitution that's been so broken for years with Bush putting final "touches" on his "shredding of it" ..that MAYBE it's no longer useful? It sure doesn't seem to work, anymore.

29. yeah, but the choices are
John and Paul... not Bob - he decided not to run this year after it was stolen from him in 2000.

So I'm going with John the Dreamer. Who knows, he might just have some different answers which turn out to be practical too.

31. Ahh....I get what you say....
More dreams gone...with a gun...which is worrysome. But, we gotta dream...how LONG do we dream.

There are those of us older out here...who dreamed with Bobby and Jimmy and Bill...we still wait and are always seduced by the Siren Song of a New One...who Promises the "Golden Dreams" ...who Promises "things will be different."

That's why I'm torn between the "Pragmatist," Hillary...whose been through the DREAMS and the "Dreamer, Obama" who has no idea what he's up against.

That's the worry...

Cat Stevens - Silent Sunlight Lyrics

Silent sunlight, welcome in
There is work I must now begin
All my dreams have blown away
And the children want to play
They'll soon remember things to do
When the heart is young
And the night is done
And the sky is blue

Morning songbird, sing away
Lend a tune to another day
Bring your wings and choose a roof
Sing a song of love and truth
We'll soon remember if you do
When all things were tall
And our friends were small
And the world was new

Sleepy horses, heave away
Put your backs to the golden hay
Don't ever look behind at the work you've done
For your work has just begun
There'll be the evening in the end
but till that time arrives
You can rest your eyes
And begin again

30. More like a CONSENSUS BUILDER vs. a PARTISAN
and as for pragmatism, Clinton has run a horrible campaign and she has no landmark achievement in her 35 years of "experience". Frankly, competence is NOT her strong suit.

32. Do you remember what Bill Clinton ran on?
If you weren't around Google it...and if you were and think it was keeping his "penis in check" then I understand what you are thinking...but Bill Clinton ran on the SAME HOPE that Obama is doing and the SAME HOPE that Jimmy Carter did.

In fact....ALL OUR DEM CANDIDATES run on HOPE & CHANGE because they are ALWAYS FOLLOWING CRIMINAL REPUG ADMINISTRATIONS!!!!

Until our DEMS CLEAN UP what those REPUG FILTH CRIMINALS DO...then they won't ever be successful. They will always be RUNNING ON CHANGE & HOPE... "Empty Promises" that then turn us over to Repug Filthy, Thieving Liars....that make us run AGAIN...on "Hope & Change!"

Let's hold our Dems ACCOUNTABLE. Why are they always "pulling the Repug Card whining that they are just "VICTIMS?"
