If you were at an Obama rally please help me debunk this
I live in Washington state and I listem mainly to Kiro am radio. They have one great host in Dave Ross, however, they have another one that I can't stand...Dori Monson. Today he tried to show that Obama has rigged woman in the front rows of his events and has them fant on cue. Just go to the link.

I would like to show him that this didn't happened at all events or get first hand experiences. I think it is all BS, but I would like to confront him with real fact. Believe it or not he has the highest ranked show in his time slot in the Seattle/great Puget Sound area and I would love to put him in his place or give Dave Ross the info and let Dave put him in his place.

Please help guys...

10. I attended 5 Obama rallies...
Here in Columbia, SC and noone ever fainted. Truth is, Barack does have rock star appeal and that kind of thing happens. People are so fired up when they see him in person, with all the energy and the adrenalin rush. Some people just don't understand it or they just pretend not to.

29. Yup...
One of them happened to be King day at the dome rally in front of our statehouse. Hillary and John Edwards also spoke there. I even attended a John Edwards rally and stood on stage behind him with my daughter and others. I still have the yard sign his people gave me.

8. There will always be greedy corps supported by 29% of the population, they just believe that shit.
I'm sorry that would be Patriotic Corporations in favor of Liberating the World, supported by 29% of the population that truly understands the need to vote for a President paid for by those Corporations.

those names in ages! I'm surprised Munson is still around.

Can't help with your rebuttal, but I was thinking that if Munson is trying to chip away at Obama's support in Washington, he's got a BIG job ahead of him.

And welcome to DU!! :hi:

11. I posted about watching the girl in Seattle get woozy (watched it on C-Span)
just because I hadn't even thought of it before.

A Clinton supporter posted that a person at a rally she attended had fainted too. And another one who said someone went down OUTSIDE the event, so it wasn't as though it was a "plant".

Just think - fifteen THOUSAND people, waiting for hours, probably no food, blood sugar levels whack.

Once I was at Mass and a classmate fainted - and believe me, the Church of the Assumption was not cramped, crowded and hot.

It happens. Non-issue.

And do you really think Obama NEEDS that type of gimmick? He seems to be doing fabulously on his own.

13. Was at the rally in Omaha
I was at the rally in Omaha, NE, last week. I had a clear view of the rope line, and there were no fainting women or men.

However, the people on the floor were standing on concrete in extremely crowded conditions for about two hours--and that's after standing outside on concrete in freezing temps for about another 3 hours. This is pretty typical, especially for anyone lucky enough to be in those first couple of rows past the ropes. It doesn't surprise me that people might faint after that sort of thing, especially when you've been screaming your head off and standing that close to so many people.

Before our rally started, there was an older female volunteer that passed out and they had to take her out in a wheel chair. But that was about an hour or more before Obama took the stage.

People passing out after standing a long time is not unusual. That's why when you are part of a wedding party, they always tell you "don't lock your knees." They told us that in college concert choir, too. Falling off the top riser into the orchestra pit would not be a good thing! :)

I think this DJ must be a little too desperate for things to talk about. Maybe he should try interviewing some real Obama supporters instead. :)

17. that is what i thought
I know here the rally started at 1:00pm and if you were in front then you problablly were standing in line at about 6:00am. I know they turned 3,000 away. And I passed out at a concert once when I skipped dinner to go. To many bodies and too hot.

Thanks..i'm going to forward this stuff over to our good radio host.

It gets hot and people are there for a very long time.

31. it is exhausting to wait on line for hours
outside and then inside again. In Bangor it was cold outside and then hot inside. I right down was on the floor inside and stood the entire time. It was very tiring. I can see how someone who may not have taken the time to eat or drink may pass out at some point. I have to give the volunteers credit though, they were walking down the line handing out Dunkin Donuts coffee in the morning!

35. Yes, it was incredibly hot...
We were on line for 3.5 hours, and then on our feet inside for another 3.5 hours. It was an early evening event, so most people missed dinner. Being up near the stage, you're also under the stage lights, which are incredibly hot. I thought the girl next to me was going to faint, but she didn't thankfully.

Sorry if this comes off as nasty. I'm just tired of seeing people who are supposed to be Democrats supporting such obvious right wing hack attacks like this. Hillary has been the victim of a lot more of them than Barack, so I would expect her supporters to be more aware of the hackery, and not run to defend it.

Edited to remove needless testiness

28. Dori -- two yawns.
He is popular because he appeals to the lowest common denominator audience. His fans think he preaches the gospel.

He'll say anything to get a reaction, and he even thinks he's a sports expert too! And you can't trust snything he says, like what you heard on the radio.

When Dave is done in the morning, I head for my MP3 player.

I bet Dori is probably watching this thread trying to stereotype liberal democrats for programming a future show...

This may have been posted already but at the link below there are 5 video links to the “Obama Fainters” - it’s hilarious - same MO each time. Lots of people seem to be buzzing about it. I’m sure none of us would be surprised to learn that Golden Boy traffics in cynical theatrics and staged interactions - but it would be nice if the MSM took note…

Glad that Cleaver is talking about the “squeeze” from BO and the threats - this is going to turn other SD’s off.

Also, post those “fainting” videos - the cult storyline here is working.

Informed in Illinois Says:

Yes, do post the fainting videos. If the fainters were set up, or even if it just looks like it, that will be the beginning of the end. Some mocking for your reading pleasure:

Tiny Dancer Says:

I heard the fainting-gate on the radio today. It was pretty funny all the incidents sounded exactly alike. Someone called in and defended BO and said there’s not a lot different you can do when someone faints. The host pointed out that these were a little too similar for that to be the case. And then he kept saying “PHONY PHONY PHONY PHONY”

1, 2 the GOP is coming for you.

These people are very hateful, and disrespectful of our party leaders, calling Pelosi, McCatskill, Shriver, Oprah, among others. They also claim they will vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee.
