This scenario could blunt the October Surprise |
|
If Osama is captured, * will get a bounce out of it. But there's one flaw in this: Osama's capture SHOULD make us safer. But what if there is another attack from Al Qaida. If there's another attack, then the bounce goes away, because it would prove Osama's capture has NOT made us safer. (just as that New Year's Eve Orange Alert helped Dean argue Saddam's captured didn't make us safer.)

1. Right, but lets hope it doesn't happen |

My father was in the Pentagon during the last one. I'd hate to see another.

4. Exactly I am not a fan of any scenerio that causes harm to anyone. . . |
|
. . .if we catch Osama, we catch Osama. My prayer is that we stop terrorism and that the Democrats win. I don't need or want to see Bush fail at protecting this country so that we can win.

I'm just throwing the scenario out there because I feel it would undermine * telling us we're safer.

2. Actually the high terror alert didn't justify Dean's statement because he |
|
held the war on terror and the Iraq War as separate conflicts from day one. It was looked on by many moderates as the same old war=bad rhetoric.

And it would be too little too late.

11. Shrub and co. have been evasive when questioned "do you know" |
|
where OBL is" etc. The questioning should be stepped up. Forces their hand to reveal him early if they have him, else risk a ruinous scandal if they are shown to be delaying capture or announcement for "Oct Surprise effect."

12. Another attack on American soil would be a defeat for Bush IMO |
|
that would reflect on the failure of his ability to detect these attacks AGAIN, and yet another failure of mass proportions. The buck stops with the president, and I'm sick of him getting a free pass on this shit.

Just delete this thread.
Hannity and all the wingnuts will be blabbering about it tomorrow in all likelihood.
I also hope we never have another terror attack on our soil.
