Is that Huge Edwards endorsement coming Today? hmmmmm |
|
Wouldn't it be funny if Edwards Endorsed Clinton today?(Saturday) Obama has had all the big name endorsements as of late but bookmark this post and lets see if it comes. At this time it sure would help Hillary alot more than help obama.
I bet it does. hehehehe

People do!
Everybody thought Kennedy would give Obama MA. --- NOT!
I don't think anything will derail Obama's momentum.
JE needs to do a Gore - endorse the nominee after the convention.

22. Possibly, he may not endorse at all so he can turn over his delegates at the convention |
|
As soon as he endorsed he is irrelevant.
If he wanted to make an impact he should have done it by Feb. 4th
He seems to be playing some type of game, unless Hillary promised him a cushy job or something I don;t know why he would endorse now.

35. Well, just an endorsement wouldn't really work but he could campaign with her |
|
and put some clarity to the issues of healthcare and the other stuff he agrees with her on. In fact, I wouldn't mind if he didn't endorse but campaigned a little to emphasize his issues.
The Kennedy endorsements for Obama were about remembering JFK, not about issues. It was kind of sad.

9. What a ridiculous statement. She has been enorsed every day by elected officials and others |
|
I bet Edwards does endorse her, because he has seen that she is the only one truly for universal health care and helping the poor and middle class. Obama is not for it, a cause near and dear to Edwards heart.

4. this late in the game it will look like "quid pro quo" |
|
If he endorses someone who he has so hotly criticized, it will reek of hipocrisy.
Edwards should stay out of the endorsement game.
I have had to defend him enough in our home state of NC (before he dropped out) from other people in NC who called him a big fake all of the time.
Edwards is wealthy, has his poverty institute, a nice family, a sick wife, I don't think he wants anything from anyone.
But it will look that way.

Let's "hope" it comes on Monday, though. A weekend endorsement is not as effective because less folks will be paying attention.

Especially if Hill loses Wisconsin she will need to some mo going into March 4. Two strong debates (she beats Obama in every debate) topped off with an Edwards endorsement would do the trick!

The article jefferson_dem posts suggests there is a good chance Edwards, like Gore, will stay neutral so he could help broker a peaceful resolution should this go to the convention.

they're arguing that if edwards came out at this point for obama, it would just look like piling on. i hope i haven't been wrong about edwards all this time, i've always thought of him as a man of principle. a hillary endorsement now would just look like he's been promised something, and obama wasn't willing to play his game.

|
And also someone who is closer to him on health care, trade, and the economy. Obamites never articulate the policy reasons why he MUST endorse Obama over Hillary or be a fraud. I have asked them to show how Obama is closer to Edwards on the issues than Hillary is. None of them have taken up the offer. ;)

he may be a little bitter that he had to compete not only with a blackout from the M$M, but a candidate who is seen by many....dare i say it....as a rockstar? John can do what he likes, but this former supporter would be utterly disappointed if he endorsed hillary.

it would be a betrayal to those of us who supported his campaign long after we knew he didn't stand a chance. His best bet would be to remain neutral. And since that statement came through an Edwards surrogate, I've totally dismissed it, as should you.

45. It came from two sources which suggests it is accurate |
|
Actually three for the "toughness" issue because Edwards reportedly walked over to Obama during a commercial break during a debate and implored him to fight harder, be tougher. That perception is also backed up by the facts...
I supported him as much as anyone. I wouldn't be betrayed at least. I would actually be happy if he backs Hillary.
The irony with all this Obamite complaining about him considering endorsing Hillary is it totally contradicts the Obamaite-led (on the netroots) charge that Edwards is a phony. If he was interested only in himself he would have jumped on the Obama bandwagon by now because Obama is more likely to win.

Edwards doesn't have validity at this point in my view. The day before he said he was going to go all the way to the convention followed with him dropping out of the race, a few days before he could have done something on Super Tuesday.
I've met many Edwards supporters (now with Obama) that are VERY disappointed in how the Edwards campaign ended up.
I value Edwards' endorsement (even if it's for Obama) as much as what Dodd or Biden think. Actually, I think I value Dodd and Biden's opinion more at this point.
If Edwards (despite all of his rhetoric about wanting change in Washington and not going the same old way) endorses Hillary Clinton, he will fade out as someone who left his message behind for political expediancy.

48. Endorsements CAN make a difference... |
|
If a candidate does not have name recognition, an endorsement can bring attention. In Obama's case endorsements prompted people who did not know him to take a look at him. They don't win votes, the candidate has to do that.
In Hillary's case I think endorsements a lot less helpful. We know Hillary, we've seen her for 17 years in the national conciousness. So she doesn't need the attention. Just my take...

49. My husband was originally an Edwards supporter until some of his friends, co-workers |
|
and myself were able to convince him to vote for Obama here in the recent VA Primaries.
I'm not sure if he's like other Edward's supporters, but my husband firmly believes that Obama's positions are the most near Edwards stances.
IMO, if Edwards supports Clinton he's only doing it for PERSONAL gain, not for "the causes" that he holds dear. It would be sad to see him do this, but Obama can WIN, with or without Edwards.
