Democratic party elders on edge of freak out |
|
Democratic Party Elders on Edge of Freak Out NY Times: Officially neutral leaders hope to avoid an Obama-Clinton deadlock — and bitter feelings — with private talks and patience. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/16/us/politics/16delegates.html?_r=1&hp=&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&adxnnlx=1203181519-+IfyAfKtQdo5dKWKhu6kkgFormer Vice President Al Gore and a number of other senior Democrats plan to remain neutral for now in the presidential race in part to keep open the option to broker a peaceful resolution to what they fear could be a bitterly divided convention, party officials and aides said Friday.

I was big fan of the pot and meaningless sex. But the polyester was a bit much...and the platform shoes were horrendous.

Disco was so hideous that I'd repressed all memory of it. Now you've reminded me. Back to therapy for me. :)

but he was a good enough composer to wright down what was ringing in his head, ..from POX: genesis of genius, madness and the mysteries of syphilis, by Debora Hayden.
in Victorian times at least 25 %, up to 50% of men had syphilis,
a fascinating book

functioning autistic, i have an IQ of 164, but am functionally illiterate, i do have good verbal skills, but spell check doesn't solve all my problems.
thank you for not abusing the disabled, as the Spelling Nazi's do so gleefully.
this isn't a collage final term paper, i don't always reread it, and when this page turns, whatever is on it will fade into history forever, never to return.... it matters not, but your kindness will remain.
i also lost my left hand in an accident, i am reduced to typing with one finger..... try it for a while

2. I'm voting "D" this November regardless of who wins the primaries... |
|
I assume that holds true for a lot of other "D"s as well.
The only "bitter feelings" I have are directed toward Bush in particular and the Repubs in general...
And "bitter" doesn't begin to describe them! :grr:

7. Then both are to be commended for being statesmen instead of stepping in and |

creating more animosity.
I actually applaud these fissures coming to light, they've been there a long time, because it's time the Democratic Party address the disconnect they've demonstrated from their own party's platform of liberalism.

9. Something I found that was interesting is the bit about Edwards |
|
"At a private dinner that Mr. Edwards, a former senator, held at his home last Saturday for a dozen close friends, he said he had spoken recently with Mr. Gore about the benefits of neutrality, someone who was at the dinner said. Although a number of his supporters had been urging him to endorse Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton has actively sought his backing, Mr. Edwards said he intended to remain on the fence for the time being, the person said.".
It does not seem like Edwards is going to endorse anyone. At least not now.

John Edwards! Betcha, had he not "suspended" his campaign, by what I think was a "PUSH" from insiders, I feel Gore would have endorsed John Edwards!
America MISSED it's chance! Sure, John Edwards was yet another white male, but he was the BEST CANDIDATE this time around! IMHO!!

20. So, don't vote and say hello to President McCain. Make no |
|
mistake about it, this will be a close election regardless whether it's Obama or Clinton on the ballot. We are going to need every Democratic vote to insure that we get a Democrat in the White House. Even if it isn't the candidate that you support now, we can't afford, as a country, to give the Republicans 4-8 more years in power.

This is a heck of a primary. It has the potential for resulting in something either very good, or something very bad. I hope that one candidate moves ahead far enough that the convention is a time where the party can come together.

these people are looking for any reason NOT to go to Clinton.
and I think the people who have gone to clinton expect a little quid pro quo, or are paying that back.
