It is time we have a Woman in the Executive.
It is not time, however, that we have another Bill and Hillary Clinton co-presidency.

Bill and Hillary's joint decision-making at the beginning of his presidency was as overt as it would ever be in the White House. "He would say, 'Hillary thinks this. What do you think?'" said White House counsel Bernard Nussbaum. "They really were a partnership. She was the absolutely necessary person he had to have to bounce things up against, and he was that for her. I sensed a tremendous need for each other. They didn't have to see each other, but they would talk continually every day." In deference to her continuing role as Bill's "closer," staff members called Hillary "the Supreme Court." "We would always say, 'Has the Supreme Court been consulted?'" recalled Dee Dee Myers, the president's press secretary for two years, now a V.F. contributing editor. Whenever Bill said, "Let me think about it," aides knew he intended to call Hillary.

1. Why wasn't eight years enough for these people? Even if Obama was a totally
shitty candidate at this point, I would vote for him just because I don't understand the need for these two to constantly grasp for power.

2. I think most Americans feel this way. Time for some new faces, some fresh blood....
an infusion of new ideas. It's time for the next generation to take charge. The Boomers have done as much damage as I'd care to see done.

(Note: I'm a Boomer, myself.)

3. I'm not a Boomer (I'm in my late 30's), so I will refrain from commenting.
My problem with the Clintons is they seem to see themselves as God's Gift To America. They think they are personally so fucking great that America cannot live without their "leadership"--300 million people in this country, tons of extremely gifted and devoted politicians and public servants in our midst, and yet only this one married couple is specially and exclusively endowed to lead us. Ugh.

are people who would probably favor appointing Chelsea to replace her in her senate seat, if she were the nominee.

6. There does seem to be a cult of Clinton Family Worshipers, doesn't there?
If you liked Bill, you'll LOVE Hillary, and Chelsea would be the OFF THE CHARTS!

8. Look over at Free Republic--there are people lamenting that it's
unlikely now that Jeb Bush will be able to run even in 2012, due to the current toxicity of the family name. I did not grow up during the time of the Kennedys (was born after both were killed), but I am uneasy with dynasties, no matter what. I have no doubt that the Clinton worshipers here are looking at Chelsea, assessing her, waiting for her to eventually run for office. Creepy. There is something truly psychologically wrong with people who have this weird craving for entire families to rule us--they must really think monarchies are cool. I haven't yet figured out the Bill/Hill/Chelsea devotion, especially considering the utter humiliation that Bill inflicted on the Democratic party in the 90's. Bill was a decent President, but not great. Hillary is a good Senator, but I haven't seen any greatness. And yet, some people just can't fucking get enough of them.

9. lol - i think she's 27 or 28, so it 8 years she'll be old enough! BUT...

It will be Jeb Bush's turn - Chelsea will need to wait another 8 years for her turn - that'll give her time to be ready on Day One anyway.
