Florida, Michigan Delegates Shouldn't Decide Race, Pelosi Says
Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Delegates from the disputed Florida and Michigan primaries shouldn't decide who wins the party's presidential nomination, said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the chair of the Democratic National Convention.

``I don't think that any states that operated outside the rules of the party can be dispositive of who the nominee is,'' Pelosi said in an interview on Bloomberg Television's ``Political Capital with Al Hunt,'' scheduled to be aired today.

Pelosi dismissed concerns that uncommitted party officials known as superdelegates would vote against the will of the majority of Democratic voters, and said if they did, that may cause troubles for the party.

``It's not just following the returns; it's also having a respect for what has been said by the people,'' Pelosi said. It would be ``a problem for the party if the verdict would be something different than the public has decided,'' she said.

Nancy Pelosi's comments bode well for the democratic process. The People must decide our nominee, not party bosses!

1. Pelosi's comments always bode well
It's her actions that generally leave much to be desired.

4. Yea - but I won't hold that against her, when she says something right on!
Though YES --- her actions to date have offered little to brag about.

2. the superdelegates need to be eliminated
I'm fine with congress critters being delegates... but only allowing them to vote how their district voted.

Party flaks being superdelegates?
That's just stupid and is anything BUT democratic.

3. I read about this late last night on DKos, and complete agree.
She was also speaking of the regular delegates as well.

I would still support a revote though, but as things stand - Pelosi is right on.

5. This is the most significant non-election event of the campaign so far ...
and I'm surprised more people haven't realized this. Even the Hillary campaign has admitted she won't catch Obama on pledged delegates, which means the superdelegates will decide this election. Period.

Nancy Pelosi is the leader of the largest group of Democratic superdelegates out there- the House Democrats. She will also chair the DNC convention at Denver.

The fact that she has basically come out as an Obama supporter is EXTREMELY significant- it greatly reduces the chances that Hillary will be able to use superdelegates to win at the convention.

6. I'm also surprised....not more have noticed
It may be that Pelosi is not looked upon with much favor in DU - and for good reason. Though this has also not been reported much in the corporate media.

Nevertheless, she is in a position to weld great influence. Her comments suggest that all this battling over what may come of the super delegate scenerio is moot.

The People will decide and Nancy, along with other party leaders, agree.

Case close right?
