I am so loving all this discourse! Why do some want it stopped?
After making a remark on one of the other threads, it occurs to me how important my remark was to me and I hope to others as well.

It seems so many want to end the primary process lickety split and have a winner today. WHY? This battle between Hillary and Obama has done more to energize me and obviously many democrats than any landslide for one candidate would have ever accomplished. I could probably go in search of links to prove this, but the turnout at caucuses and primaries should be sufficient. The fact that even with some pretty weighty current events like school shootings and FISA bills and all of that, the primaries are still the most posted topics on DU also seems to prove it beyond question.

So I say HIP HIP HOORAH! that we have such a close race. This is keeping Democrats and our issues as the top news most of the time, it is energizing virtually everyone regarding politics and the importance of voters' choices, and it is what the primaries are supposed to be about. I hope it gets decided exactly when it should get decided, on convention day. I'm just loving it!!!!! Keep fighting, keep getting involved, keep looking for and arguing about all the issues! I'm so proud of all of us!

3. I actually agree with you; but, I would like the lies to stop. It is just not seemly.
It also bodes ill for the GE in November, because if I believe and I do, that Obama and his supporters are deliberately skewing Hillary's record and just deliberately telling falsehoods, I will not only not work for Obama, I will stay home and not vote. I don't think I can vote for a pug, whether he's pretending to be a dem or not.

4. It's like the simmering animosity between estranged spouses
that suddenly explodes at a family outing ....

Yeah ... They need to get it out of their systems, but most of the family would just as soon go somewhere else ....

Like you, there are some that prefer to watch, and even egg the warring parties on, perhaps for their own edification ....

I avoid the primary stuff, because I don't like to see supposed fellow Liberals/Progressives/Democrats hacking at each other ..... I say "Thanks, but no thanks" ....

6. I agree about the "personal-ness" of many of the posts, but
along with those there are usually some with substance that are worth reading and considering. Unfortunately those that get so personal in their attacks are part and parcel of real life and have to be tolerated. Note that here I mean personal amongst ourselves, not necessarily personal about the candidates. I think personal attacks on the candidates is completely fair game.

8. We haven't been voting for two months even
This is what everybody said they wanted, an actual primary. It would be nice if all the candidates hadn't dropped out, but this is closer to the way it's supposed to be than a super tuesday tsunami.
