how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

With all the raging debate over which of the remaining Democratic candidate is the lesser evil, why do people fixate on the fine print in their various "plans?"

I mean, really - no "plan" spelled out as a campaign tool is going to actually see the light of day if the candidate whose aides developed (or plagiarized) it gets elected.

What matters - truly matters - is which (if either) is a slimeball like bush, which has his/her heart in the right place regardless of whatever mangled jokes or careless remarks he/she might have made?

Crawling through their "healthcare plans" and arguing incessantly over mandates and who's covered etc. is a waste of time. They both indicate they favor improving on what we have now, and neither will commit to single payer and putting the obscenely profitable insurance companies out of business.

Beyond that, the details of whatever might get enacted will be hammered out in CONGRESS. Details will be debated in committees (those have several members, all with an axe to grind). Compromises will be made. Something will eventually be sent to the POTUS to sign. If the POTUS is HRC, it might very well look like BHO's plan. And vice versa. Or it might be more like Edwards' plan.

Flaming back and forth over those details is pointless, and it is a smokescreen. I am still trying to decide which one I dislike least, but my criteria are basically which, if either, truly has the interest of the country - and I mean the whole country, in historical perspective, at heart. Which, if either, passionately wants to see the rule of We the People restored, and the fascists defeated? I don't mean which SAYS that - they both do. I mean which has a fire in the belly for it? Which would, in another time, be saying "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country?"

Many people have kicked around the question of whom Edwards would endorse. I'd like to know whom Joe Biden considers the lesser of the two evils. I'd like to know whom Al Gore considers the lesser of the two evils.

I'd like someone I trust who knows them both personally to tell me what they think of them as people, not based on debate "performances" and "talking points."

Sadly, I think the silence is telling.
