1. Well, I like this "right-wing rag's"
analysis of this..

"The Obama campaign has been derisively and incorrectly described as more rock tour than political campaign and his supporters as more starry-eyed groupies than thoughtful voters.

If detractors in either party want to continue characterizing the Obama campaign this way, they will have seriously underestimated both the electorate's hunger for meaningful change in how the nation is governed and the candidate himself."

2. However Right-Wing it is, it can't be bad as an endorsement from Ann Coulter and
words of encouragement from George W. himself.

5. Is the Milwaukee paper a right-wing rag?
I used to read the Journal a brazillion years ago (I lived in West Bend for a few years when I was little, spent a lot of time in Door County, too), and they used to have this section where the comics were, called the Green Sheet. Do they still have that? It's about the only thing I remember about the MJ. I suppose it must have been a right-wing rag because my Republican grandmother, who liked Nixon, read it avidly.

16. We used to have 2 papers
The Journal and The Sentinal. One was more right one was more left.

They merged and fired most of the liberal writers. Became a corporate cheerleader.

and they killed the beloved green sheet.

11. I conclude what polls tell us is true. Approx 47% of America will never vote for Hillary EVER
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 04:19 PM by Johnny__Motown
That percentage goes up the farther right you move. Roughly 70% of Dems will be satisfied if Hillary is our nominee. Do the math. That means that almost everyone outside the party won't vote for her.

No surprise that the majority of papers that lean to the right will be against her.

Divisive

15. 47%? You mean the numbers Kerry and Gore and Bush wound up by the end?
Obama will have the same number after the rethugs are done with him.

The polls told us Bush would beat Gore by 11% and that Kerry would beat Bush by 8% (he lost by 3) at this time in 2000 and 2004. Obama is immune to the 11 point loss these "new" candidates suffered? Then there is President Dukakis going from up 17 to losing by 7...

19. No, I am using Hillary's negatives. they range from about 44% to 47% (I used the higher number)
and Gore got more than 47%, hehe where did you get that number? Another 600 votes in Florida and he would have won it all.

29. That is where negatives go after the other party is done with you
Obama's will rise just like Bush 00' and Kerry 04's did. Gore had high negatives too. Why do you think he was losing by 11 points in the sacred polls at this time in 2000? I guess we should have given up because Bush was inevitable?

8. I still can't believe Hillary actually CANCELED her Eau Claire Wis townhall ...
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 04:18 PM by Alhena
I had to find multiple sources online before I could believe she'd actually do that.

You simply do not do CANCEL a previously scheduled town hall meeting right before the state votes in a primary. It simply is not done. And the reason the Clinton campaign cited - a scheduling conflict - is insulting to the entire state.

It was bad enough that she started her campaign so late in Wisconsin, but to actually schedule a town hall meeting- where's she'd get her much balyhooed opportunity to answer the questions of Wisconsin voters- and then say "nevermind- got other things to do" is incredible.

The only reason I can see for this is some personality quirk in Hillary that hates losing anything without some built-in excuse for doing so. So now she can say she didn't campaign hard there- good for her.

44. I think for myself quite well, thanks. An endorsement from a right-wing rag is an endorsement (good)
but the blessing of a right-wing rag is not something a progressive candidate would necessarily covet (bad).

I was just wondering if you meant this as a boost for Obama's cross-party appeal or an attack on his progressive credentials.

I'm an Obama supporter (now that Kucinich and Edwards have dropped out), but I have no illusions that he's anything other than Clinton with a better marketing plan (a/k/a a better campaign).

Hey, I'm in Cincinnati, and our paper is without a doubt a right-wing rag. I expect them to endorse Clinton, to be honest.

I just think the whole "leftie papers like Clinton, wingnut papers like Obama" thing has been effectually disproven.
