Poll question: Who will win Wisconsin?
Clinton or Obama? What are you basing your prediction on?

she's still in deep trouble.

13. Dude, I'm not a dude! I still refuse to consider an Obama win yet,
even if I want to, because it would hurt my delicate psyche if I was wrong. :hide:

8. I have a weird sinking sad feeling Hillary will squeek it out by 8% or something like that...
something tells me there's the "sleeper cell" of factory types that vote for the establishment candidate and they will pull it out for Hillary.

This will be hugely blown up in the media and the whole race will be turned on its head.

I hope to God I am wrong.

14. i really have no idea
but I voted she'd win by a close margin, because it's supposed to snow there all week. But Obama could win by a very close margin, just depends.

19. Well I'm here and I say Obama takes it by a huge margin!
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 12:18 AM by ginnyinWI
He gets the crowds. He's spent far more money on TV ads, more than twice as much as all the other candidates added together, including Huck and Mic. Bill Clinton showed up midweek and only got 400 to show up. Obama's gotten thousands and thousands at his rallies and meetings.

That's the feeling I've got! :)

9. I see so much conflicting info that it's hard to tell.
Tons of young people live there. Also, there's some people that are struggling, and this hasn't been a good group for Obama. Obama probably has a much better ground game. Indies will probably go for Obama. How involved will pukes be?

That's just my gut feeling on this.

15. ARG has Clinton up 49-43, so that means Obama's winning...
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 12:08 AM by BeyondGeography
Other polls have him up 4-5 points (i.e. Rasmussen). I voted Obama by a nose, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Clinton pull it out, either. Wisconsin has some Hill-friendly demographics (only 6% black, lots of white ethnics, code for people still freaked out by race) so it could come down to whose base turns out.

No real movement in terms of delegates for either side.

16. I have two polls here:
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 12:20 AM by ginnyinWI
Research 2000(for a Madison TV channel) has Obama 47%, Clinton 42%--among likely Democratic voters.

Rasmussen Obama 47%, Clinton 43%--again polling likely Democratic voters.

Both polls were conducted mid-week--and note, they don't take into account any Independent or cross-over Republican voters. And we have an open primary here.

So I say 47% is the minimum Obama gets. But I suspect it will be a lot higher.

BTW, I went to Marquette for a couple of years back in the late 70's...it was a blast but I couldn't deal with the winters there back in the pre-global warming era.

18. Black Voters in Idaho
Obama won Idaho by 80% where I live, and I can confirm that he got the black vote here. I talked to the both of them here in Boise, and they said they both were for him. :)

But nonetheless, independents in Idaho are more likely to vote Obama because they like him. I think McCain will win here, but an Obama at the top of the ticket will give Idaho more seats in the State legislature and our county seats. While Idaho as a whole is Republican, Ada County, the largest country containing Boise and Meridian, is now Democrat. Obama is BIG in Idaho, and most the Democrats and independents want him here. Even many Republicans are here for him.

23. You touch on why it's important to run strong even in states where we lose the electoral college
a point that is lost on too many pre-Howard Dean 50-state-strategy Democrats, which includes the entire Clinton campaign.

Welcome aboard.

22. I'm pretty sure Obama will edge past her...
she had to cancel her events today due to weather and Obama has huge support in Madison and Milwaukee. Even in my part of the state he seems to be ahead (he was here Fri., about the same time as McCain...Obama rally 6,000+; McCain rally 600ish)...of course anything could happen, we keep reelecting Herb Kohl:eyes:

Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 12:42 AM by elocs
Even the Republicans here can feel it and fear it and hope for a Hillary win.

On edit, I talked with my friend tonight who bleeds Republican and he will not vote for McCain unless Hillary is the Democratic nominee.
