CNN reporting Obama spent the day with John and Elizabeth Edwards.
I'm off to bed in a minute and thought I'd pass this along, just in case it hadn't been posted yet.

Obama somehow got out of the bad weather in Wisconsin and made his way to the Edwards' home in Chapel Hill NC. He spent the entire day there. No details other than that.

Goodnight everyone! :hi:

7. He's jerking your chain...
...do you really think they'd go swimming in an outdoor pool in mid-February?

2. The whole *day*?!
Seems like an exaggeration. Just how long was the visit, anyway?

no mention of timeframe other than that.

22. Makes sense. Reach John's house, go through the front door, find your way to "John's Lounge,"
have a little chat (maybe a cup of coffee: Obama probably would want a latte, here's hoping John gives him some Dukin Donuts,) find your way back out the front door -- that could easily take all day.

5. The entire day?
I thought it was just a short meeting, in and out.

It actually does sound rather promising for Obama that he spent so long there. (Assuming that Edwards wasn't tapping his feet and looking at his watch the entire time.)

8. Did they play basketball? Who has a better jumper?
Both are big basketball fans. It would be cool if they someday played a pickup basketball game for charity. Doing it for poverty would be nice.

20. A charity pickup game between the two would rock
They aren't too far apart in age and both are athletic.

17. Flew down early afternoon. Gone by 4. Sounds like a meeting:
"February 17, 2008 4:11 PM

A helicopter cameraman for ABC's Raleigh-Durham affiliate WTVD spotted Obama leaving former rival John Edwards' house on the North Carolina...

Obama, who had spent the night at home in nearby Chicago, took advantage of the unexpectant gap in his schedule and flew down to Raleigh early afternoon..."

18. The Fix was in...
Edwards gets no credit for shifting the democratic presidential race towards Obama.

The "surge" that Obama has enjoyed coincided with Edwards dropping out. I don't think Hillary has really done anything wrong in her
campaign other than not figure out a way to make a better connection with Edwards prior to his exiting the race.

21. I'm beginning to wonder if an Edwards endorsement is even worth all the time.
I guess if it includes the 26 delegates, it is. But seriously, the candidates have better things to do than shuttle to and from Edwards' house all the time

24. CNN barely covered it when they met with Hillary. Nobody knows what it means.
but her plans and ideals are more in line with Edwards, even if he railed about her fund raising (which was always sort of disingenuous with his profiting from hedge funds)

He believed in universal health care so much, ending poverty, which Hillary has worked on so much especially regards to women and children, helping people in ways like her moratorium on foreclosures, etc....

that I will be gravely disappointed if he endorses Obama, who stands for little of these things in a meaningful way.

Hopefully Edwards has been indoctrinated into our cult and soon we can have our meetings at "The Compound".
