Hillary more progressive than Obama, according to analysis of sponsored bills
See http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=300022

Clinton is a radical Democrat according to GovTrack's own analysis of bill sponsorship.

Obama is a regular rank-and-file Democrat according to GovTrack's own analysis of bill sponsorship.

1. On social issues..
.. I like Hillary. It's the corporate and war stuff that worries me.

But Obama is slightly worse, and he's making an appeal to
the Reeps.. think lie dogs fleas.

So I think I'm gonna vote for Hillary in the TX primary.. and I
will hold my nose and vote for Obama if he gets the nom.

And I won't like it. Most tiresome.

2. Since when is the flag-burning amendment
called progressive, or changing the name of a post office progressive?

4. I really don't care how "liberal" she is deemed
with things such as Iraq and Kyl-Lieberman out there along with things like flag burning amendments.

6. Then you don't care about important matters. She has the most liberal record, and plans.

22. As we all know, Hillary, Edwards, Kerry, Biden, Dobbs were all lied to repeatedly by Bush Adm
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 03:21 PM by pathansen
That is why they all voted for that bill.
These are all wonderful Democratic Presidential candidates who were deceived by Bush Adm into thinking Saddam had WMD and had a connection with 9/11.
Congress also never voted to allow Bush to go to war in Iraq, only to stop Saddam Hussien.

Now, once and for all, stop lying about and picking on Hillary!

8. 2nd person in the thread who brings up the flag burning
amendment. Which HRC opposed.

So many of you Obama supporters either don't know what you're talking about or are willingly spreading disinformation about Clinton's record.

10. Hillary opposes laws against flag burning?
Ummmmm....please, explain this, OK?

Clinton, apparently, could not agree less. Along with Sen. Robert Bennett, a Utah Republican, she has introduced a bill that would make flag burning illegal.

15. Do you know the difference between a law
and a constitutional amendment? She supported one in order to stave off an amendment.

17. Geeeeeeee....
...no, I have NO clue as to the difference. I only have a BA with highest honors in political science, taught HS government and practiced law for a ton of years. Hey, fill me in....OK...I am sure your creds are superior to mine. And...while at it...look at the call of my question, OK? Please point out where I said AMENDMENT? My questions was in regard to any legislation against flag burning.

:eyes:

So....did she or did she NOT support legislation to ban flag burning? It is a simple question, your excuse for her conduct notwithstanding! She either agrees with prohibiting it or she does NOT agree. Sponsoring a law with which one does NOT agree is absolute unwarranted stupidity. If she opposes laws which prohibit flag burning, then IMO she needed to stand up and say so and not propose something which does the exact opposite of what she supposedly supports. Is there something you do not understand about this...like the term HONESTY?

Sheesh!

18. The threads I reference SPECIFICALLY mention the
FLAG BURNING AMENDMENT.

Wasn't it Obama who told me that words matter?

19. Then why did you intentionally distort
what was said?

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to ignorance, rather than malice. I won't make that mistake again.

21. LOL...
....what distortion? The INFERENCE was the Hillary opposed laws which banned flag burning. So I wished a clarification as to her stand on the issue over all.

What? Now no one is to question what the queen..er...Hillary has done in the past?

Do I want a candidate who votes for legislation he/she does not support? Hell, no! If someone opposes something, then they need to stand up and be heard. If you are correct and she did vote for the law in order to stave off the amendment, that is truly a position by an elected official of which I do not approve.

What is next? To fend off an anti-abortion bill which bans ALL abortions, the life of the mother be damned, it is then OK to not merely support but introduce a bill which does interfere in the choices a woman makes with her health care provider only 85% of the time and not 100% of the time?

When we start doing BS like this, where exactly do we draw the line? Her conduct was unacceptable. One should NOT compromise his/her principles. PERIOD.

JMHO

It helps explain why Republicans like Morning Joe and the rest of the Corporate media are so anxious to have Hillary stopped right in her tracks. She is their worst nightmare.

Thanks for posting.
