Serious request to Admins: Can we have a GD:P Smacktalk Forum? |
|
I ask this in all seriousness because many people on GD:P really get into trashing the other candidate and their supporters. But when it occurs in GD:P, I think a real sense of unhappiness and hatred toward one another emerges.
We have daily false outrage threads.
We have daily "Obama lied"/"Hillary Lied" threads
We have daily "Obama/Hillary supporters are horrible people" threads.
It seems to me if all of these were moved to a GD:P Smacktalk board, this would have two benefits:
1. People in GD:P who hate this sort of dialogue wouldn't see the board littered with it. Instead we could have conversations like, "Was it a mistake for Hillary to bypass WI earlier this week?" threads - you know - ones that aren't berating of candidates, but might still be about the primaries.
2. People who like to engage in this sort of thing can do so in a way where they aren't interrupted by angry DU fans who hate this stuff. More importantly, as its in a smacktalk forum, the hatred feelings would probably disapear, as everyone would intuitively know this is just the equivalent of football smacktalk. People really don't hate those who support the opposition, but its nice to fantasize about hating them (I say this as a Redskins fan who of course HATES Cowboys fans!).
So who's with me?
