Do the Clinton's really think this "plagiarism" story is going to HELP them?
I mean it seems very much a desperate move. The words of MLK and JFK are the words that were used, and you can't "plagiarize" famous quotes imo. This makes them look seriously desperate! If Obama wins Wisconsin and Hawaii tomorrow, they are going to look very silly because I'm expecting Obama to go after them on this in his victory speech tomorrow and make them look silly again. All the blogs I've looked at with this, the comments are that the Clinton's are desperate if this is the best they can come up with.

1. It's going to cause more superdelegates to abandon them

They've been warned about making stupid attacks; if Obama's the nominee, they don't want the Clinton's to have impacted his chances in the general election. I assume the same is true for Obama.

3. Obama should call out the lockstep attacks of Clinton and McCain.
he should imply they are working together.

9. I' sure people see that she's reinfocing McCain's attacks,
doing some dirty work for him in the GE,if Obama's the nominee. I expect they will either have to backpedal quickly. We'll see in the next few days, I guess.

13. In the real world, loveangelic, you need to provide proof..
Do you have proof of your statement?

Otherwise, it's called LYING...and makes the person doing the lying known to all as an UNTRUSTWORTHY LIAR!

20. He just has to imply theyre working together. McCain has already defended Clinton
against Obama. He doesn't ahve to say it's true, but he just has to imply.

to talk about, this is a waste of time. I don't see it going anywhere.

btw: I love Bettie Page. I have a number of books about her, she was something.

12. News vs Op/Ed
The Globe's news pages have a strong pro-Clinton tilt.

Also remember that the Globe was one of the papers that bloviated ad nauseum about Biden back in August of '87. The Globe news department has a long history with some of the creepier characters in NE Democratic politics, like John Sasso.

6. If I had a tinfoil hat on, I'd say it was a trap.
The Obama campaign so quickly and succinctly rebutted it I think if it had any effect (I don't think it'll have any) it'd help Obama.

But I don't think it was a trap either, Clinton really is running the bad of a campaign.

7. It probably won't work
But it's a good strategy, IMO. You are at a disadvantage, your opponent is winning the race at this point and you need to stop his momentum.

Will these allegations stick? Probably not. But you can't blame Hillary for trying. With the exception of Rezko, Obama has gotten by scot-free. We all know that won't happen in the GE. It's a good thing Hillary's campaign is trying to bring up dirt now, because it will inevitably happen in the GE and Obama needs to know how to fight it if he wins the nomination.

8. They talked about it on MSNBC - both reporters kind of laughed about it and said it
was a slow, Holiday Monday. They pretty much laughed it off.

I don't think this is going anywhere even though the Clinton campaign is going to try to make it a big deal.

24. It will just reinforce the desperateness of their campaign
and, actually, will make them seem more desperate than, mathematically, they should be.

14. They hope it HURTS Obama
They want to get him dirty in whichever ways they can. They have to attack Obama on his message, and they have been unable to do so, so now they are forced to get meta about it.

15. Serious question
I got here this morning after there were already 9000 threads about this and I have not read them all.

Where is the link that says this came from Hillary's campaign? If it's there, then fine, but I just need to see it.

Thanks.

28. NY Times attributed it to a "rival campaign"
It could be McCain's or Huckelberry's, of course, but Sen Clinton is the most obvious suspect.

19. The Clintons need to chill the fuck out
If Obama was a dirty guy he could have his surrogates remind America of the Clintons past, all the dirt all the scandals. I admire him for that, even when he was down bigtime he didn't resort to trying to destroy her. He rose to the top without digging up dirt on her, now that she's a few points behind she's going all Karl Rove on Barack, what a shame.

26. They are so pathetic
I used to support Bill but his behavior in SC and her attitude of entitlement completely turned me off. I hope the Obama wins WI, TX and OH to put these self-serving hypocrites finally where they deserve...out of the public discourse. We do not need their politics of personal destruction, it is time to move on.

27. Look, Hillary and Bill are beyond desperate. It's over folks.
I think anybody should know it by now. All over but the crying, and Bill and Hill will have to be drug kicking and screaming away. For all the years I supported those two and fought for them against people who talked about them, well, my eyes have been opened. They weren't so stupid after all.

I mean, how DARE the voters go against The Entitled One?

Their desperation is raw -- and an ugly thing indeed.
