An Obama running mate?
Who would you like should (when) he get(s) the nomination?

I like the idea of Jim Webb to counter the McCain military service.

5. I supported Clark in 2004 but he's too close to the Clintons
I doubt that Obama would want someone would could possibly be seen as a Clinton loyalist in as VP

3. I think i'll stick to hoping for Wes Clark
Obama has said he wants somebody knowledgeable about the military as his VP, he has also said he wants to surround himself with the best people and not yes people. As such using those two criteria i would say Clark fits the bill the best

16. I have never understood why some people seem to dismiss others
because the person supported an competitor in the nomination race

13. I fail to see how that is a hinderance for him to become a VP
I don't think the fact Wes supported Hillary is enough for Obama to remove Clark from his list of possible VP candidates, he does not seem like the type to hold that kinda grudges

I also see no reason why Wes would turn him down if he was asked, mind elaborating why you think its a hindrance?

10. Neith Obama nor Webb have a long history with the party
neither one has completed a single term at the national level.

11. Jim Webb voted for retroactive immunity
...for phone companies who illegally helped Bush officials to spy on us.

This shows that Webb doesn't value civil liberties, due process, the rule of law, or civil justice.

15. I think somehow we're going to have to have
A Hillary-Barack or Barack-Hillary ticket. I can't see either side accepting a ticket without their candidate on it. I'm not saying it's necessarily a winning ticket. But if things goes down with Hillary winning all the big states and Barack winning everything else. And if it takes superdelegates and/or Florida and Michigan to settle this thing, it's just going to leave a really bad taste in the "loser's" mouth.

I predict the two sides won't be able to stand each other after this is all over. It's already close to that. But the two sides need each other and can't afford to utterly alienate the other. It'll be like Kennedy-Johnson. Apparently JFK couldn't stand LBJ and vice-versa. But they'll have to make some accommodation.
