Plagairism story: Rebound for or beginning of the end of the Clinton campaign? |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 01:53 PM by x-g.o.p.er
At first glance, this seems like an act of desperation, but I could be wrong. It may be the one thing that gains traction and begins to stop the Obama moentum train.
What does DU think?
Either way, I sure am glad the Clintons hate the politics of personal destruction, because I'd hate to see what they'd do if they embraced and employed those tactics. :wtf:

1. It's a non-story and an act of desperation from the Clinton Campaign. |

Obama speech writers used text from a close political ally's speech with the man's consent. It was certainly not plagiarism.

13. What's next, and how low will they go? |
|
I'm thinking pretty low.
And I wonder if Obama wins any of Hillary's firewall states, whether they'll carry on all the way to Denver or just give up.
But giving up isn't in the Clinton's playbook.

2. You blame Obama's plagiarism as reported in the Boston Globe - on Clinton? |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 01:51 PM by MethuenProgressive
She hacked the Globe's News division typeset servers and planted the story while circling the printing plant in Janet reno's invisible Blackhawk helicopter, right? With Elvis as her co-pilot?

The desperation and appalling lack of decency were apparent the night before NH.

4. Maybe if it had been from someone other than a close colleague and supporter |
|
it might get some traction. Instead, it just reinforces that they are desperate and raises fears among superdelegates that they will get increasingly negative and cause a backlash among them.

5. I don't think it's going to change the minds of people who support Obama |
|
It doesn't make me regret caucusing for him. That's all I have to go by.

8. I looked at it all side by side... |
|
It wasn't even CLOSE to being verbatim. If that's the best they can come up with, well I'm sorry but it's pretty weak. And I haven't even committed 100% to Obama yet.

12. WITH HIS PERMISSION AND CONSENT |
|
AND ADVICE!
You have got to be kidding me with this crap.
I've been neutral in this whole process, dont really care who wins, but this may be the lamest, most desperate move I've ever seen.

7. New Clinton Tactic: Old Rovian Tactic |
|
Change the meaning of words.
Plagiarism - (n) the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work.
If they are friends, and political allies, it goes to assume that they would bounce ideas off of each other.
And since a line must be unauthorized, and I don't hear anybody saying "he stole my line", it's not plagiarism.

10. They're willing to side w/ McCain on campaign finance, |
|
Hil might as well be McCain's VP, she is being borderline traitorous to the party. She will do absolutely ANYTHING to get elected, but yes, she is about to go down for the count. I think many people are sick of the Clinton tactics.

Goodbye Hillary. I've grown to dislike you the past couple of months.
Too bad, to. I really liked the Clinton's before.
