Unfortunately, it's true.
His most famous line in what is perceived to be one of his most famous speeches is nearly the same exact quote given by Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes 77 years prior.
Kennedy's: "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." Holmes': "...Recall what our country has done for each of us, and to ask ourselves what we can do for our country..."
Burn Kennedy at the stake!
Oh and just for you know, Kennedy never said "in the words of..." or "Quoting the great..."
Damn him.

"Are you a politician asking what your country can do for you, or a zealous one asking what you can do for your country? If you are the first, then you are a parasite; if the second, then you are an oasis in the desert." -- Kahlil Gibran; 1925

"...It was almost a trick, yet it was no more than what poets and storytellers have done throughout the ages: He stole his ideas and illustrations from older works. I use the word 'stole' here in the same way that T. S. Eliot used it when he said that the mark of a mature poet is when he stops borrowing from other poets and starts stealing outright." -- Ralph Abernathy; When the Walls Came Tumbling Down; page 479
