I got curious after so many responses to http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4629973&mesg_id=4629973">this thread (which before 24 hours was up mysteriously disappeared from the front page  ).

*** My other poll didn't post - fingers crossed this one works! ***

12. Why would a brokered convention nullify all the votes of the American people?
How can people who want votes counted opt for someone no one actually voted for?

15. It can be done. If neither candidate gets enough votes, a candidate can be nominated from the floor.

9. Why post this?
Since either Obama or Hillary will be our nominee - and I hope it's Barack - how does wishing it was Al Gore instead of either help us unify and beat the pukes this fall?

13. Wasted energy....
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 02:38 PM by RiverStone
A brokered convention would be a disaster. It will never get that far --- or even close.

That would mean we would all be mud slinging for the next 6 months! DU would be worn to a pulp.

Imagine how much would NOT GET DONE and how much $$$$$ would be wasted. All that same energy and $$$$ could go to defeating McLame and the puke machine.

IMO, this dance will be over long before summer.

Obama will seal the deal and Hillary will concede by April 1. We need that time to unify, to focus on the real enemy, and to hear who Obama's VP choice will be.

A year ago, Al Gore was my favorite. But that was a year ago....

Now is the time to wrap this up and support ONE candidate who will kick the pukes ass this fall.

OBAMA!

14. I love Al Gore but feel it wouldn't be right
for either Obama or Hillary to be doing this for two years and have Al walk in and take it away. In the old days when that happened a few times it was without computers, when primary time was only a few months long, not years.

I just think it wouldn't be fair. I personally think Hillary has her votes from name recognition and being a woman and I think Obama being the new guy I respect how far he has come for being new.

Let's play this out and see what happens. My only worry is that Hillary will try to steal it with supers. If she wins fair and square I won't have a problem but I will have a problem if she steals it.

I also don't respect her for wanting to go against the rules in Florida and Mich. because it favors her, we ALL know damn well if Obama won in those states he would not be fighting for them because he is principled and she wouldn't be asking for it.

I feel sorry for the people who live in those states because its not their fault. What a fu...mess!
