What the HELL is going on in here!? Some of you people |
|
should be ashamed of yourselves! What the hell are you going to do when YOUR candidate is NOT the nominee? Well? What are you going to do? If I see a single one of you say the things about the nominee that your are saying now, I'll do my best to get you tomb-stoned!

9. Nothing bully about it. Is this division good for the party? Is this |
|
the way we're going to win the fucking election?
I'm don't even feel comfortable coming in here to talk about my favored candidate because there's absolutely no way of maintaining civil discourse. And that's a fucking shame and it's that sort of bullshit that's going to cause John McCain to be our next president.
Some of you need to seriously examine how this infighting looks to our opponents and what it does to party unity.

22. I challenge you to find ONE SINGLE POST by me |
|
that endorses or supports either of our two remaining candidates. In fact, I have not stated my postition because I have seen what happens when someone does.
I will support the nominee whoever that ends up being and I'll go into the voting booth knowing that I'm not having to vote for someone whom I constantly trashed before the nomination.

4. It will be impossible for those who are firmly in the Obama camp |
|
or the Clinton camp to come together when we narrow it down to one candidate. I think the rift may be too wide. Both of them have succeeded in dividing us. Welcome President McCain. If we don't get it together, we are going to lose this thing.

It's pretty sad to see what's going on. I mainly just shake my head and some of the stuff that's posted on this board. I know they're loving it at Free Republic.
The Repubs won't have to do much opposition research. They can just read this board.

7. If you add together the Obama-ites who will not vote for Clinton (or the |
|
Clinton-ites who will not vote for Obama) to the liberals who will not vote for a conservative to the "centrist" Dems who somehow think McCain is acceptable and throw in those who are too disgusted by the entire political parade of hate and lies, there are a lot of people who will not vote for the nominee come November. I do not think that the party and its voters will magically come togther once the nominee is picked. Unless the candidates change their ways and message and rein in the worst of their supporters, the repugs will have a fair-to-good shot of winning. The damn shame is that this should have been a progressive/liberal tidal wave.

Unfortunately this is what primary season is like. This isn't new. Once we have a nominee, we'll all pool together to make sure we have a Democrat in the White House on 1/20/09.

That Clinton vs. Obama or Obama vs. Clinton is that big of a deal outside of DU.
I seriously doubt that the rest of America is paying much attention or having any hard feelings for one candidate or the other over what is going on in the Dem Primaries.
If somebody says something awful about Hillary or Barack, the average American Democrat (who never visits Daily KOS, or Smirking Chimp or DU and is never exposed to the theatrics that go on here) just takes it in stride and goes on with their life.
Only DUers or KOSers or SMIRKers will get pi$$ed enough at the other candidate's supporters to withhold a GE vote from the nominee. Mark my words.

29. I'm sure you are right. Unfortunately, those of us who care enough |
|
about the process to actively watch and/or participate are definately in the minority.
Also, to withhold a vote like a snotty little brat just because your guy or gal didn't get the nomination is beyond childishness.
Just give me a Democrat. I don't give a fuck who it is at this point.

36. Perhaps you should take a good look at my post. And, if I'm |

bullying, then why is this post still active? If I see ANYONE talking shit about our nominee (note that I did not say a particular name) after August 28th, I will alert on it. That's not something I do lightly but I will not stand by and tolerate shit-talking about our nominee on this forum where I come to SUPPORT Democrats, not to tear them down.

Hillary has her good points as well but they are both human, they will both make mistakes, and we should all be able to come here and offer our opinions on it. Whether they are positive or negative.
I love obama, but felt it was poor form when he made that "you're likable enough, hillary" snark at one of the debates and I called him out on it in this forum.
I will support the dem, although right now based on Hills tactics I find it harder to support her. Regardless, the forum is here for us to discuss our candidates not blindly but with wide open eyes.
So yes, if I say something negative about whomever the nominee is I certainly have the right to do so without threat of being tombstoned.

38. Thank you for answering succinctly and politely. Perhaps it is |
|
not sufficiently clear that it's the viciousness of SOME posters' attacks upon one or the other of our candidates that I beleive is not only breaking the rules of this forum but is making us as a politicaal party look disjointed and exploitable.
Constructive, not destructive, criticism and differing opinions is one thing, but savaging one or the other of our cadidates is just not cool.
