You're Not a Campaign Master Mind by Excelling In Chicago Machine Politics and Beating Alan Keyes |
|
You don't excel in Daley's Chicago Machine by being a some sort of campaign mastermind, you just have to know the right people, make the right deals and things start coming your way.
Tony Rezko is probably a good person to know if you want to work your way up through the machine.
And honestly, beating Alan Keyes in a statewide race in Illinois is not really a resume polisher.
I think Obama's campaign prowess has been extremely over-exaggerated by his supporters.
Obama hasn't faced anything more than token opposition in a general election in his entire life, and now we expect him to take on the Republican attack machine? They eat kids like him for breakfast.

4. Playing with Democrats is different than playing with the big boys. |
|
Democrats, even the vaunted "Clintons" would not be half as nasty as GOP will be if they can get their paws on Obama.
He is untested against a real Republican challenge.

You've been brainwashed. And scared shitless by Bush and crew.
The fact is there are more Democrats than Repukes. And if Dems learn to stick together and support their nominee. We will win in November no matter how nasty the Repukes are.

15. She has been on the frontlines for nearly 20 years. |
|
The GOP has done nothing but slime and do everything possible to destroy her and and her family since Bill first ran.
Obama won some elections on the South Side of Chicago and beat Alan Keyes, he has no idea what is coming his way, and I don't think he's ready.

She's been standing next to the guy on the front lines.
She has run for office exactly twice, neither time against significant opposition.

2. If he's so bad at campaigning, what does that say for Hillary's 0-8? |
|
If Obama is as bad as you say, shouldn't a seasoned veteran not gone 0-8, with many of those overwhelming losses in double digits? Geez, now that's really bad.

|
is more than "token opposition," unless of course you are trying to insult Clinton while taking a swipe at Obama at the same time?

9. Lots of people here imagine the Clintons tactics to be analogous to the Republicans. |
|
Which is ridiculous.
There are many lines the Clintons simply won't cross that the GOP will have no problem dancing all over.

13. That's it? That's the only difference? They can run nastier attack ads? |
|
If that's true, then the GE will be easy as pie.

This point has been brought up by Hillary supporters before, but the point is that she hasn't been challenged in NY either.

12. You are, however, a campaign mastermind if you can steal the crown during Hillary's coronation. |
|
She was up 30 points, she had all the money, all the support, and all the recognition. It was hers. And he's beating the best campaign machine the Democrats have had in at least two decades.

17. And you're not a mastermind by "beating" Hillary in a primary campaign in which |
|
the entire media is on your side. Chris Matthews-style sexism plus old Hillhate from the coservopundits plus Obama love from the center to left-of-center latte liberals in the press adds up to a decided advantage for Obama. It's amazing Hillary has been able to keep it as close as she has so far (and still might pull this thing out.)
In the general election, it will be a whole other media landscape not nearly so advantageous to the O-man.

Geez. Y'all act like we're literally cutting people's legs off at the knees in Chicago.
Our politics is better than it used to be. And we know how to win.
Obama has an EXCELLENT campaign team and disciplined advisers.
Don't hate on success. Go and achieve your own.
