as it has here... Yes, the fight might well hurt the democratic party. Destroy it? No, but wound it enough that we have 4 to 8 years of more Repuke rule from the White House... yeah, I can see that happening.

Like it or not, without a veto proof majority in both Senate and House, we have got to win the Presidency. The last 2 years of Democratic rule in the Senate and House have been, uh, disappointing (understatement of this new century).

Both candidates (and their supporters) need to put their egos aside and promise to not go negative on each other and to respect the will of the Democratic base about who should be the nominee... otherwise, we will have a cranky old white guy with his fingers on the nuclear button for 4 years.
