Let's face it, there is not much difference between Clinton and Obama as far as policies and plans.

Yes, there is the war thing but it is magnified because there is not much else.

So we, and everyone else, concentrate on style and appearance. People love or hate Hillary Clinton because she is a woman, and people love (but do not hate in public) Obama because he is black. Thought remember when the black community first thought he was not black enough?

So Hillary is methodical and "reminds" some people of their fifth grade teacher, while Obama is charismatic and eloquent.

Would we have a better chance of winning Southern states if the blacks would vote in droves for a black candidate? Or for the spouse of the "first black president?" Or would many Southerners, black and white would vote for a son of the South?

Is it more "acceptable" in our society to mock in vulgar terms a woman than there is a black man? (Remember Earl Butz who just died a few weeks ago?)

I have a former co-worker and an acquaintance who, I think, finally got it that I don't want any of his filthy "jokes" about Hillary (some involved Ted Kennedy). There are many web sites and "jokes" about Hillary sex life and sex organs; are there any about Obama's?

Would McCain have just chuckled if he were asked about the "n...r" instead of about the bitch?

Even on DU, someone posted "a joke" about Hillary hair style. How far would this be from posting a photo of a nutcracker described as "Hillary's thighs?"

One evening it appeared that there was a give and take about how Clinton voted on a bill and how Obama did. No reason, just a show of who's on top. And I am not sure how voting in previous bill s can be an indicator of an effective president, unless one is LBJ with his legendary capability to bend Congress to his will.

And, then, of course, all of these condescending threads "informing" Clinton (mostly) but also Obama that they should drop out. How offensive. They have enough advisers to tell them what they should do.

I don't have a solution. I am bothered by the love and hate opinions on DU and on the media that have not much to do with "the beef" but with trivia.

And, yes, I am more bothered by the misogyny since it is rampant and the ones who espouse this do not even feel the need to be ashamed. If the Clinton's child were a young man, would Schuster have used the term "pimp?"

I think that whoever is the nominee, before the first debate with McCain, an apology for that "bitch" chuckling should be demanded.

And until then, we can just bear and wait.
