CNN: Texas in dead heat, HC 50: BO 48. nt
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/18/poll.texas/index.html

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll suggests the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination between Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois is a statistical dead heat in Texas, which holds primaries March 4.

In the survey, out Monday, 50 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Clinton as their choice for the party's nominee, with 48 percent backing Obama.

But taking into account the poll's sampling error of plus or minus 4½ percentage points for Democratic respondents, the race is a virtual tie.

3. hence the reason for the "plagirism" bullsh*t.
they are in sheer panic as they see their campaign take a nosedive. it was just discussed on tweety that hillary could conceivably receive more votes, and obama still come away with more delegates? I have to admit, I don't understand this whole delegate thing, but it sounds like texas is even more complicated than the rest of the country d/t redistricting?

5. TX is part primary, part caucus. Number of delegates is assigned according
to LAST YEAR's turnout, so turnout this year doesn't matter. If heavily hispanic precincts didn't turn out last year, which they didn't, they are not getting many delegates this year. Such a mess.
