IMPORTANT REMINDER
"One reason the race appears to be tight is that Texas Democrats are having a hard time choosing between two attractive options," says CNN polling director Keating Holland.

"Likely Democratic primary voters would be equally happy if either candidate won the nomination, and they don't see a lot of difference between them on several top issues.

"Roughly a quarter of likely voters say they could change their minds in the next two weeks -- and not surprisingly, those people are splitting roughly equally between Clinton and Obama."

------------------------

Whenever I get bummed out by the unbelievable stupidity and rancor of the flame wars here in GDP, I console myself with the knowledge that DU is NOT REPRESENTATIVE of Democratic primary voters, Democrats as a whole, progressives, Americans, or anything.

DU is a self-selected sample of dems and progressives who spend way too much time online, who are up to their ears in minutiae, and who really need to turn off the computer and go outside. Unfortunately, I include myself in that description.

I want to say to all of you out there who hate what this forum has become: take heart! Don't let a tiny fraction of lunatics fool you into thinking that's what's going on out here in America. Out here in the real world, the polls I've seen and the conversations I've had with people all indicate that most Democrats generally like BOTH Clinton AND Obama, and aren't going to jump off a bridge if their chosen candidate fails to secure the nomination.

I think that's something worth keeping in mind if you must keep subjecting yourself to the cesspool that is GDP. (Which, again, includes me. I don't know why - God knows I hate all you people! :hi: )

Sincerely,

T. M. Powell

P.S. If you must know, I'm an Obama cultist. But I'm not going to be super upset if Hillary wins it. Well, maybe a little upset. But only for a short time, and then I'm going to be behind her all the way to the White House! Come on, anybody who would prefer a President McCain is not playing with a full deck.
