A question for the administrators: will the 3 thread limit be lifted tommorow?
I believe Skinner said that he would make exceptions on certain days to expand the 3 day limit.

Is that in the plans for tommorrow?

Some of us are going to use their 3 thread limit pretty quick with exit polls, county results, etc.

Thanks for your assistance,

- Chris

P.S. If this is not in the right place, let me know.

P.S. I'd just like to add: Skinner and all the moderators do a terrific job moderating this place. I think they all deserve a hearty thank you for making this such an enjoyable place to post. If you need evidence, look at my post count. :)

1. Please NO!! Rules are to curb the conduct of the worst offenders, and they know no limits.

5. It would only be for one day. That would be my suggestion.
Of course, I have no say in this. :)

12. And ten people will post the same topic in ten minutes if the limits vary.

I don't see the need. It only encourages poster NOT to look at the board and see that there are already ten threads on the latest Wisconsin results.

7. After a brazillion threads on plagiarism today, I don't think there's a problem...
Plus, there could always be something unusual, like one thread for exit polls, one thread for county results, one thread to speculate on delegates, etc.

10. If he doesn't I would suggest that someone start specific STATE THREADS
then all of the exit polls, county results, etc for the particular state can be continued there.

16. I hope not. Not after the Obama supporter heckled Bill Clinton to the point of getting a reaction
from him and accusing him "for practical purposes" of punching him in the nose and being stopped by his secret service agents. As long as any Democrat is being bashed on the DU the limit needs to be inforced on both sides. But before this man got Bill's attention he was responding to the Anti abortion hecklers in the crowd. And I think he was upset that the Archbishop of San Antonio came strongly against Hillary Clinton since every priest in the Archdiocese had to read a letter at Sunday Mass condemning her appearance at St. Mary's Univ. in San Antonio. While ending with "I'm not telling you how to vote," his message was "I'm telling you how to vote." And a friend of mine who is a priest told me today that Archbishop Gomez is requiring that any priest who attends a rally of a Democrat must inform him before he attends. And in San Antonio many of our clergy and religious fought for workers rights, civil rights (truthfully) marching alongside MLK, equality in education and representation in local government including Henry B. Gonzales. This foreign born Archbishop, from Monterrey and member of Opus Dei, does not care to represent the needs of the people and does not understand U.S. politics. I will not vote based on a "single issue" that would be unethical and immoral based on my free will and free conscience.

17. Please don't change the rules...

Posting-limits force people to make choices about what threads they're starting. It's
sort of a quality control device.

I have noticed very positive changes since DU enacted these posting limits.

It feels more like real discussion in here.

To start all of that up again--would be very depressing. I know I'm only person, but that
is my opinion.

If anything, it is even more important to impose these limits on these "important" days, because
there are so many people posting. New people, people who aren't regular posters and posters who
would otherwise lurk---will be posting.

Do we really want all of the serial posters to start up again on these "important" busy nights?

No more serial posters!

(thanks for listening!) :)

18. It doesn't necessarily have to unlimited tommorow... maybe a 5 thread limit?
Yeah, some people abuse the system, but there are alot of good posters who will have alot to contribute tommorow and they might feel limited with a 3 thread limit...

Who knows, it's not in my court.

20. Thanks for posting
Maybe i was a caboose in my prior life. I mostly only come to this particular forum currently. Been here for five or six years and mostly never have seen that being a O.P. as some type of benefit. To me it looks more like some kind of self-inflicted masochist chore. The idea of these flamers and all the spam they deliver is kind of funny in ways. Those who find reason to respond are sometimes kind of humorous too.

It also might be mistaken that all of those O.P.'s slow the servers for D.U. Pretty sure it's just the amount of people logged on but i could be wrong. At any rate i do agree with you that the spammers suck. Keep on hanging, those low traffic times can also be good :-)

19. what about state forums?
If you're posting just local info, can it go in the state forums? Not sure if the GD: P category trumps all others for primary data

it's silly to think some important piece of news will slip through the cracks because some loudmouth used up his limit.
