"It Takes a Village Plagiarist"
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/18/21431/2544
So, what does Hillary see when she looks in the mirror? Perhaps she overlooks one particular blemish. As we view her today, we remember that she can't even acknowledge the woman who really wrote It Takes a Village.

Clinton has been criticized for not giving credit to a ghostwriter in connection with It Takes a Village. The majority of the book was reportedly written by ghostwriter Barbara Feinman.<8> When the book was first announced in April 1995, The New York Times reported publisher Simon & Schuster as saying "The book will actually be written by Barbara Feinman, a journalism professor at Georgetown University in Washington. Ms. Feinman will conduct a series of interviews with Mrs. Clinton, who will help edit the resulting text."

I really hope this will put HRCs attack of the day at an end. Because there is no bigger hypocrite than she herself is.

1. There Is Only the Fight, by Hillary Rodham Clinton
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 10:56 PM by K Gardner
The title of Hillary's thesis, "There Is Only the Fight," is taken from a line of poetry written by T.S. Eliot: "There is only the fight to recover what has been lost and found and lost again and again."

10. How telling. That is also summarizes her political approach to this day...
"There is only the fight". How many times has she mentioned how much she enjoys the fighting in politics?

13. Guys...ghostwriters don't normally get credit for their writing. Pretty weak effort.

But I don't blame you for trying to change the subject. Bashing Hillary is so much more fun than defending your guy's screw-ups.

14. What she did with her book is worse, IMO.
So I guess it comes down to perception. What is important, is knowing that she's the master of stealing lines from others - without the least bit of credit. She made a HUGE mistake going down this path. Not only does she now have the right wing media blasting her, but liberals such as Michael Moore.

16. "Ghostwriter": a writer who is paid to write things which are officially credited to another person.
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 08:14 AM by Perry Logan
It's part of the deal that the ghostwriter doesn't get credit, though obviously some ghostwriters renege on the deal and start complaining:

Wikipedia: "A ghostwriter is a professional writer who is paid to write books, articles, stories, or reports which are officially credited to another person. Celebrities, executives, and political leaders often hire ghostwriters to draft or edit autobiographies, magazine articles, or other written material. In music, ghostwriters are used in classical music, film composition, and popular music such as hip-hop. The ghostwriter is sometimes acknowledged by the author or publisher for their assistance."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostwriter

Let's face it, Obama screwed up. Attacking Hillary is not always the solution to your problems.

15. According the actual Author:
The author described the writing process as follows:

"The First Lady, Hillary Clinton, is the one, predictably, people still bring up to this day. The actual writing experience of working on It Takes a Village with Mrs. Clinton was not extraordinary in any respect. Together with our editor, we produced drafts in a round-robin style. We worked well as a team and things went about as smoothly as can be expected when you're producing a high-profile book in eight months and one of you is married to the leader of the free world. The problem came when Mrs. Clinton decided, for reasons still a mystery to me, not to acknowledge my help, or that of anyone else by name. Because the White House had issued a press release early on in the process stating that I had been hired to "help prepare the manuscript," when it was finished and there was no mention of me in the acknowledgments, the anti-Clinton forces went to town. The irony was that by not acknowledging me, rather than diminishing my role, she unwittingly elevated me to a sort of literary Joan of Arc with the likes of everyone from Don Imus to Maureen Dowd to Rush Limbaugh weighing in before Thank-YouGate blew over. Pundits had a field day opining how much of the book she had actually written."

THANK YOU! Apples and Oranges.

Yes. It is perfectly normal to have your books ghostwritten. Not every political figure is a talented writer or has the time to write their memoirs. It is not normal, on the other hand, to copy almost word for word the speeches of another politician's campaign. Just admit your guy fucks up every now and then. Geez.

18. Hillary has never had an original idea in her life. It Takes a Village to keep up with her lies.
I'm sure she learned how to take credit for the work of others at the Rose Law Firm.

20. Ha! True dat. She's lived as royalty for decades, and that's why she's used to everyone else doing
doing everything else for her.

You get your butt kissed as First Lady of a State, as a Walmart Director, as a big firm lawyer, as a First Lady of the United States, as a US senator, and you really do think you can walk on water and perform miracles. She thinks she's American royalty and she's inherited the crown.

26. So, how many politicians do you think write their books without a ghostwriter?
Is this some kind of new requirement for being a good politician? This attack is even sillier than Hillary's attack.

let alone the lack of acknowledgement from the HillBots that Hillary tried to pass off an entire book as being her own which clearly was NOT.

Sen. Clinton's campaign is proving to be terribly, terribly managed. This is another enormous blunder for the Clinton people. More Clinton blowback!
