"we are the ones we have been waiting for"
"We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.

And there are things to be considered.
Where are you living? What are you doing?
What are your relationships? Are you in the right relation?
Where is your water? Know your garden.

It is time to speak your truth. Create your community.
Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold onto the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off and into the river,
Keep our eyes open, and our head above the water.
See who is in there with you and Celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do,
Our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over, Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that you do now must be done in a sacred manner
And in celebration.

We are the one's we've been waiting for."

Sounds an awful lot like one of Obama's new catchphrases. :eyes:

It's only plagiarizing if Others do it. If Hillary does it then it's fine.

34. The Hopi Elders Prayer was first prayed in August, 1999.
Although I like to think of myself as prescient, it would have been hard for me to read the prayer at the closing ceremony of the National Election Reform Conference (Nashville, April, 2005) if it was not first prayed until November, 2005.

Great philosophy to live by, BTW. Aho.

26. You should not be using this out of context...
Instead of using words from the Hopi Elders as flamebait and trying to twist this into yet another stupid namecalling sesion between Hillary & Obama people...

HOW ABOUT
can you read the freaking words? Can you maybe have a conversation about THIS being a crucial moment in human history? Can we talk about how each of us are feeling this current and how we plan on HEALING our earth, eachother and more?

Just once, I would like to see the conversation be about something bigger than "hillary said this, and obama said that"

I was actually glad to se these words posted, thought there was some enlightenment coming.... until I read your last line. please grow up

31. Please babysit someone else
As far as I can tell...obama WILL get the nomination.
I think he will be the Democratic version of a bush presidency and I won't support it.
My vote doesn't count, my opinion doesn't count, I don't count...so yeah, I am a little pissed.
The truth has been thrown out...nobody even cares about keeping shit fact checked anymore. A lie is good if it supports the hype.
You post a lie and 200 people respond in outrage. You post the truth, 4 respond. Nobody acknowledges the initial lie. Just like MSM.
Nobody cares about the truth anymore.
Our country will stay divided...and not only that, our party will be divided, and on a smaller scale, this board will stay divided.
It gets weary when obama says ANYTHING...he owns it.
Fired up...for God sakes. People in Texas say that all the time. I had an obamite tell me that it was HIS slogan.
I had a boss that said that every day that I worked there. But I guess he can't even say it because it belongs to obama now.
And now...another slogan he has co-opted. Next thing we hear, his posse will want the Hopi's to change their slogan because it belongs to obama.

33. Still very unconstructive on your part
I am just as disillusioned and upset at the turn of events as the next person... but you are being part of the problem and not part of the solution when you post words originally meant for deeper contemplation - and use them as a tool for bashing one side or the other of a debate that is really a moot point... because we are all supposed to be on the same side last time I checked.

and I don't do babysitting,
Just a request for some enlightened conversation or maybe some RESPECT when one invokes the words of the Elders.

A-ho!
(meaning, "I am complete, and I pass the talking stick to you ...")

27. ah....so silly.

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.--Bob Dylan

29. Hopi Elders, actually...
This is a phrase used by the Hopi, one of the most impoverished communities living in the United States today, about their own people, and their struggle to survive and flourish despite their mistreatment by the United States of America.

Maria Shriver used it at an Obama rally about a rich, half-African-American, half-White man seeking the Presidency of the country that has so mistreated the Native Americans. Now Obama uses it.

It's sick.

30. Actually, Fly By Night has used this Hopi prayer incredibly well for Election Integrity...
... was the theme of the April 2005 Nashville Conference; the one that can be seen in "Uncounted".

And it really does -- or did -- describe the fledgling election integrity movement post-2004. We celebrated the fight against inaccurately counted voting. We spoke the truth. We created community. And we were good to each other.

But sadly even that movement has stalled and split right at the time we are facing this crucial election that is just as likely to be stolen as 2000 and 2004.

Many do take themselves personally, and struggle against each other.
