A personal miracle I want to share with Clinton Supporters....

My brother called me tonight and started talking politics. I was really dreading the discussion as he has been a real rightwing republican. He used to be a Rush fan....which should pretty much say it all. We had a political discussion about 1 year ago and he told me if I voted for Hillary that although I was his sister and he loved me he would never speak to me again.

Anyway, he said he had been watching Hannity and Colmes and was really impressed with Colmes and that when Colmes explained the liberal position it made sense to him. He went on to say that he could now see why I would vote for Hillary. That of all the candidates she was the hardest working and the smartest.

After I picked myself up off the floor he proceeded to tell me that he got it...that women are equal to any task a man was and he wanted to acknowledge that we are equals and that we had been discriminated against and he was sorry.

We went on to talk about some of the things Hillary has done...I mentioned the health care benefits she got for the 9/11 workers and he laughed and said "keep on and you'll have me convinced to vote for her".

So, I just wanted to share that. It meant a lot to me to know that my brother was capable of rising above the system of sexism he was born into and had never, until now, gotten over.

Better late than never.

23. I guess I'm lucky. My three older brothers all listen to me and respect my opinion.

They don't always necessarily agree with me, but they do pay attention and engage in thoughtful conversation. I guess it makes up for all the fighting at the dinner table while we were growing up :)

Tell your brother you got a lot of hearts on DU for being so politically savvy. That ought to convince him to vote for Hillary. ;)
