9. That's a fascist sentiment
America is built on the principle that everyone has the right to participate in government. Once you start to advocate that one group of people should not be allowed to participate because of their beliefs or affiliations it is only a short step to barring people because of their religion or race.

25. I support their right to be involved in government & politics
I don't believe in banning people from the political process just because I'm not in 100% agreement with them.

21. I support Obama, but I don't like Hillary at all...
I don't know if I've ever supported or liked a candidate more than Barack Obama.

I became very attached to John Kerry and still love the guy to death after working for his Ohio campaign and getting to meet him, but Obama is such a good candidate. I don't think there is any way he could screw this election up like Kerry did in '04.

It is still mind boggling that he lost.

4. They aren't laughing at us. They're PLAYING us.
It's like Nader v Gore writ large. And this time, it's working really, really well.

Hillary is the Daughter of Darkness and Obama is the Flim-Flam Man. A perfect opportunity for that plucky maverick John McCain to restore adult supervision to the playground.

If you live by the narrative, you die by the narrative.

5. A little of both support for Obama and being against Clinton.
I think Clinton will be a disaster as a nominee. I think she will energize the GOP base and probably lose. If she manages to win I think we'll see business as usual and a crushing split in the Democratic party.

but it is secondary to doing whatever it takes to get the Republicans out of office and out of power!

13. I'd prefer Edwards hands-down. I think he would've done better in
in the GE against McCain than either of the two we have left.

10. i'm kind of in the same position i was in 2004
anybody but bush. anybody but clinton. i like obama better than i liked kerry at the time though. there's the added appeal of voting for the first black president. i want a more progressive candidate. the truth is i would have only been truly happy with kucinich. then edwards' populist message sounded good, although i was never comletely convinced it was authentic.

i won't vote for hillary. with hillary you get bill and i can't vote for 1 person i don't respect or trust let alone 2.

12. Why don't you edit your question so it actually reflects the poll?
are you afraid people who would select "I support Clinton" would actually respond and you wouldn't get the "results" you want?

14. I am not pleased with either.
Their health care plan is a sham. But, McCain yesterday said, My Administration will be the Third Administration of GW Bush. Are we crazy. We need to stop beating up on ourselves. Lets debate issues and stop the invective.

15. Where's the "BOTH" option?
I support Obama but I am also anti-Clinton. Almost any Democrat would be preferable, even if I didn't support that person particularly.

Luckily, the more I learn about Obama, the more I can support him, and I don't have to just be anti-Clinton. That feels much better.

20. Yeah... why can't we be both?
If Hillary steals the nomination to say I would be displeased with her would be an understatement.

Many are likely Edwards supporters.

17. I vote "oppose Obama".
Gore, Kerry, Wes Clark, Bill Richardson were all better choices than the two we're left with. I'm too old to be "moved" by Obama's lofty rhetoric, soaring slogans, and empty chants. And I'm old enough to see through the Right Wing's years of unfair and untrue attacks on Hillary. Obama's supporters, on DU especially, and also elsewhere, have really been a turn off. But I didn't actually 'oppose' Obama until he embraced McClurkin and the hate wing of his church, but his Swiftboating the Clintons on Race was really the last straw.
As a Democrat, I donated to several candidates (not Edwards) but including Obama. As a democrat, I've earmarked my tax rebate from GWB for a donation to our nominee. As a Democrat, I'll vote for Obama if he's our nominee. Hopefully he'll pick Richardson as his VP.
*Any* Democrat is better than any Republican, as Democrats on this we all should be able to agree.

...they just hate Hillary. How grown up.

22. I support Obama and am trying very hard not to
dislike Clinton so much. My husband claims that I have a deep disregard for her, but I am sincerely trying to like her. She may be our nominee, and if so I must be able to defend her and work for her success. I'm a female elected official so it should be easy for me to support her...but so far I find it difficult. I know what women politicians are up against, and it is certainly not easy.
