Should rational DUers go through the list of OP names in GD: P and MASS IGNORE LIST THEM? |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 10:59 AM by iconoclastic cat
How about this for a solution to the pathetic acrimony in this forum and DU generally: Should rational, non-backstabbing DUers go down the list of original posters in the GD: P forum and ignore-list every one of them? This could be a real morale-booster for everyone who is disgusted by the bullshit around here. I suggest this because it seems that it's not enough to just nix the GD: P forum, and possibly some posters need to be purged from the collective consciousness of DU.
Now, where's my scythe?

3. I've got over 200 of them on ignore. |

But if I wiped out all of them all I'd see would be the newbies, mostly freepers wandering in here to stir up shit.

Edited to add: And thanks for twisting my words and putting a few in my mouth, bigtree! That really helps.

But I have started doing so in the last week. I have about 60 of the worst offenders -- people who call names like Hilltard and Obama Cultist. It has not made a dent in the amount of disgusting posts.

20. I rely on my 20 plus years actively involved in the party, my interest prior |
|
via watching the Democratic National Conventions when I was a kid, watching the Vietnam War reports in the 60's in grade school, history and political science courses in college, being part of the first group of 18 year olds to vote in an election, buying a calendar counting down the days before Nixon's term was up. AND extensively using the internet to do the research. Even having access to the internet for the information requires a meshing of real time experience to know the ins and outs.
Before I retired I was the go to guy when it came to politics at work.

I add a few each day. Anybody who is nothing but nasty or irrational all the time gets put away. They don't have to agree with me, they just can't continually aggravate me. I don't care who their candidate is, either. It's easier on my blood pressure and cleaner reading. So much of it is useless distraction and uproar. Who needs it?

30. My Ignore List is epic. |
|
I have a few rules I use. I don't care what anyone else thinks of them either. They are my damn rules and I use them here, myspace, and anywhere else I see fit to make my life better. I use them without hesitation and no looking back.
Strike one equals strike three in my book. Some things that cause an instant Ignore from me: Homophobia, sexism, racism, dissing Courtney Love. Try me. Go ahead: Make my life better the easy way. I actually appreciate it when someone cops a 'tude with me on these subjects. It sure is better than someone beating around the bush and trying to pretend to be a friend when really someone is a foe.
