Clinton campaign adamantly denying pledged delegate strategy
Hillary spokesperson Phil Singer is adamantly denying a report this morning in The Politico quoting an anonymous campaign official suggesting that the Clinton campaign will pursue Obama's pledged delegates. Singer sends me this:

We have not, are not and will not pursue the pledged delegates of Barack Obama. It's now time for the Obama campaign to be clear about their intentions.

It's worth noting that the Politico story quotes a Clinton official predicting that both campaigns will pursue the pledged dels. The Obama camp has not yet put out a statement on whether they'll pursue Hillary's pledged dels, though they very likely will soon.

"It's now time for the Obama campaign to be clear about their intentions."

Something doesn't smell right on the Clinton Campaign's part.

7. The story says that Obama's campaign has NO plan to do this, but senior Clinton official confirms ..
..that Hillary DOES have plans to do this.

Read the article again.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0208/8583.html

"Clinton spokesman Phil Singer told me Monday he assumes the Obama campaign is going after delegates pledged to Clinton, though a senior Obama aide told me he knew of no such strategy."

8. Could the purpose of this be
to plant the suggestion that the Obama campaign is considering such a move?

"We have not, are not and will not pursue the pledged delegates of Barack Obama. It's now time for the Obama campaign to be clear about their intentions."

So many references to politico in the media, so quick after the creation of this rw-favoring bs site.

12. Are they Fn kidding
OMG...first they say oh yes, we are going after his pledged...then they say no we arent, and you better ask obama if he is.

Like Barack's campaign had ANYTHING to do with this AT ALL. WTF.

Bye bye Clintons, I will not vote for you ever. Months ago I would have, I would have loved to see Bill back in the White House, laughing his ass off when he walked in the front door but I will now never ever vote for you...

13. I'm amazed at the amount of links to Politico here
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 12:55 PM by Lone_Star_Dem
In LBN if you have to use it for a link you had better be actively looking for a more reputable source to backup their claim. Politico is a RW tool.

And why Did Greg Sargent feel the need to force an Obama spokesperson to contact him to say they wouldn't be doing this? It was Clinton's campaign that started the story about both campaigns. Then it reached the ears of someone in Clinton's camp who recognized it for the potential PR disaster it was and they put out a denial. They started it they ended it. Why force the other, uninvolved campaign to defend themselves against something they weren't involved in?

What I've learned this election cycle is that politics really can reduce thinking adults into spoiled toddlers just looking to throw their next tantrum.
