It's only going to get worse till March 4th...
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 12:12 PM by snooper2
The Clinton's have a legacy to uphold, and this may be her only shot at being President. If Obama wins it's obvious he would run again in 2012...If McWobble wins Hillary may run in 2012. I doubt she would run in 2016.

The "annointed" family will do whatever it takes over the next couple weeks...The question is, if Obama continues to have the lead after March 4th, will she bow out gracefully, or lose it. I suspect the latter, she will claw for this nomination until her fingernails are broken and bloody.

Expect over the next couple days for the Clinton camp to start calling Obama the Prince of Darkness...

1. The constant bashing of Clintons by the left continues.
The only Democrats to make a difference since Johnson continue to be beaten down by the anarchist left.

3. it's because they keep
making THEMSELVES look bad-every single democrat ON democratic Underground was a Clinton fan AND supporter. They are doing this to themselves Blue. We were ALL proud of them in the 90's we ALL defended them, but to see what Bill Clinton has become, a snarling, finger pointing centrist democratic partisan has really been unbecoming of an ex-president and has knocked him down a bunch of notches in the book of most of us who don't happen to support his wife THIS TIME. To give the republicans ammunition (like they've been doing lately) against another democrat is a sin that to many of us is unforgivable.

8. I think Clinton is responsible for the complete mismanagement of her own campaign.
She has been beating herself. Or do you blame her poorly run, poorly managed campaign on the "anarchist left?"

If you want I can start a thread on what a well run campaign she's put together. But do you really want me to lie?

Or I could say nothing about what a poor campaign she's run - would that make you feel better?

I know you are a fan of Hillary. That fine.

But do you believe she's run a good campaign? Is it a campaign that you believe should be copied by others running for president?

Do you believe Hillary has run a poor campaign?

4. How is it that Obama runs in 2012?

You are assuming that Hillary (who would be the nominee) loses and Obama now tries to run against an incumbent (but very old) McCain?

Assume that Hillary wins. So now Obama runs against an incumbent Democratic President in 2012? No, probably not.

So now it's 2016, who was Hillary's VP? Would they not be (as Gore was) the presumptive nominee for the Democratic party after a two term Hillary Presidency?

Would that VP be Obama (again, probably not).

So... now it's 2020 (12 years from now) before Obama has another shot at it.

And that is if Hillary's VP loses in 2012, because if they win, it's another 4 years.

So... everyone can SAY that "oh he's young and he can wait his turn" but really, unless you think we are going to get kicked bad... when will he have another chance.

The unique thing about 2008 is that it's completely open in both parties. For the first time in my life, there will not be an incumbent President or VP from either party running for the Presidency. Incumbents usually win. This is a very unique opportunity.

7. The "annointed" family?
Speaking of annointed families ... can 2012, 2016, 2020 roll by without a Kennedy taking a run at it?

9. Clinton can try all she wants...
...but her hands are tied.

She either wins in these upcoming states--or not. If she wins, she's in. If
she doesn't--she's out.

I think too many people have assigned nonexistent powers to the Clintons. We've
seen their supposed "political machine" in action, and it's just not that brilliant,
or as frightening, as we've been led to believe.

The party will not allow Hillary to steal, cheat, or manipulate herself into some kind
of magical win.

Does anyone actually believe that Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Obama was just a nod
to Obama? It was a boisterous renunciation of the Clinton attacks and their lies.
Kennedy showed the Clintons that they are not royalty in our party--with unlimited powers
to treat the Democratic party as their playground. Kennedy reigned in the Clintons. Did
you notice the attacks and the racial remarks stopped after Kennedy endorsed Obama? Did
we hear one peep from Hillary about Obama "not really being against the Iraq war from
day one"? Hillary even stopped using her "I'm ready on day one and he's not" mantra, because
Ted Kennedy called bullshit on it.

The Clintons do not have the power, or ability to steal, cheat or manipulate themselves into power--over
a candidate who has more delegates and votes.

Obama will win Wisconsin and Hawaii. He is trending upward in Texas and will probably win that also.
This means that Ohio will probably follow suit, as far as trending toward Obama as well.

I think many Obama supporters are so against the status-quo and the crimes that have happened in DC--for so
long. We're fearful. We're waiting for disaster, because we can't believe that the nightmare is almost
over. We're terrified that something will thwart Obama's candidacy.

It's not going to happen. Obama will win and the Clintons--with their legacy and their history--will fold
up the tent and return to their lives. They know this.

Let's just stay sane for two more weeks--and after it is clear that Obama has won, we can exhale a bit.

It's been a long road for all of us, but it will come to a close soon with an Obama nomination---and then
the real party begins!
